I often work at night and driving home at midnight dog tired trying to get food on the way home. The problem is we currently live in a capitalist hellscape where no one is paid enough to work at the restaurants that would feed the people that work at this time. One of my only choices is IHOP and I have been relying on it a lot in recent months. However nothing will cause me to drop a restaurant faster than arbitrary rules that feel like b*. I attempted to order before I started on my 30 minute trip home, first problem the online app is broken yet again and will not let you place orders from around 11:30 to 12:30. I get technology can be inconsistent sometimes so if this wasn't as frequent of an issue I wouldn't even be mentioning it but it has happened a lot lately. The second and most infuriating thing was that when I made it all the way to the restaurant (meaning I had to wait for 30 minutes to get my food before driving 30 more minutes home) I tried to place an order for the Wonka combo a frequently advertised item that I have never once seen any time restrictions on. I was told that they cannot place in person orders for items off the menu past 10. Not only was this the first time I have heard this rule but I've also ordered this specific item at this specific time from this specific location many times. They said that they can place the order for that item only online which again is infuriating because the register was right in front of them, but some items are arbitrarily locked out? Again maybe I could have worked around that if there app wasn't also broken preventing me from placing online orders which is the only way to order items that they have been advertised EVERYWHERE. In short the next time I run into this problem I will delete my IHOP account and I will never go back despite the fact that that will leave me exactly one option at night. If you were going to advertise an item and you don't put specific limitations on the menu then you should have to honor that and the people working there should be allowed to honor it. I don't know if this is a rule for this particular location but given the inconsistency of your online ordering I would change that rule as soon as possible. At the moment you are many people's only option for food but you keep up with nonsensical rules like that and people will find another one.
Update: 1/3/25 save your money and your effort and choose a different location to go to. Family bought me IHOP gift cards and I found out that you can't use IHOP gift cards to place orders at this location, at least not online which is the only way I order. It's outrageous to me that the gift card for this establishment cannot be used at this establishment. And by the way I checked this is specific to this location. If you must get IHOP don't go to this one because you can't use your IHOP gift card which is ridiculous. And I also could not order by phone because this location has a full mailbox and is not picking up the phone. I don't know what the deal with this location is but it's the last time I will be going to this one and maybe the last time I use IHOP once I finally find a place that accepts the gift cards that are for that...
Read moreThis is going to be a lengthy review, but I just have to share our experience and make sure the right people get the acknowledgment they deserve. Myself along with my mom, my sisters and my 3 baby nieces and nephew came in for breakfast. There was no wait and they got us seated immediately. Before we could even get the kids in the high chairs an elderly couple sat behind us started eyeing us and give us ugly looks. We got the kids situated, but they were hungry and being a little more fussy than usual. I will also add that my niece is deaf in one ear so it’s harder for her to hear or realize how loud she’s being. My sister was already embarrassed and overwhelmed but our wonderful waitress Clarissa assured her that the kids were fine and to not worry about them. Well the elderly woman behind us was not okay with it. She started shaking, huffing and puffing, throwing her hands over her ears. At this point my sister decided to take the baby outside to try and be considerate of the woman. We had decided that we were just going to leave when the very nice host (I didn’t get a chance to get his name) came outside and asked us if everything was okay and we explained the situation in which he responded with “you are not leaving over the kids making a little noise, you’re going to go back in there and enjoy your breakfast.” He sent over crayons and applesauce right away for the kids. They also asked the elderly couple if they’d like to move to the other side of the restaurant in which they responded with “yes, as far away from children as possible.” Once the couple was situated on the other side of the restaurant and the kids got food we were able to enjoy a delicious breakfast! I cannot thank the staff here enough for being so kind, understanding and accommodating. Clarissa, thank you so much for taking such good care of us and for your kind advice that we really needed to hear. “Don’t ever apologize or feel the need to explain anything about...
Read moreDisappointment tripled!!! Hate Waffle House since the pandemic hit because the staff just...don't...care. have begun to feel the same for Cracker Barrel because the kitchen staff appear to have forgotten how to use seasonings. Tried IHOP located on 20 in McDonough for the 1st and last time on 10/16. Was surprised to find the parking lot packed on a Sunday at noon. Waited for a table for 20 minutes (not bad), the wait staff placed my granddaughter and me at a small 2 top and went away for 15 minutes. He seated other tables, passed mine and promised to be back in a couple of minutes. An additional 15 minutes goes by when he comes back, takes our order and disappears for another 10 minutes. Returns with my drink but not my granddaughters. 10 minutes later he shows up with a drink, but not what she ordered and dissappears for another 10 minutes and tells us they're out of blueberries for the highly advertised specialty drink so she orders something that he comes back with TOPPED WITH BLUEBERRIES. He asks if there's anything else we want and I say "Our food" . His response "OH yeah, right" and promptly returns with our food that's obviously been ready for pick up for a while. In all this time I've watch two other tables walk out without ever being served. When I finally get the check I had to argue about what I was over charged for and when paying the check he tells me he has the paper money but not the additional 46 cents I'm owed. Why is this person working here? Was this the exception or heaven forbid the type if service always provided by this individual? Needless to say...
