The food was standard hibachi, however the customer service was TERRIBLE. Reservations were made for a party of 19 on Valentines Eve for a birthday celebration (weeks prior), they ask for ALL of your party to arrive 10 min. Prior to the reservation time in order for everyone to be seated ALL at the same time. However, this was NOT the case. The table wasn't ready until 30 min after the reservation time. When asked about the wait time for the table, We kept getting the run around from 10 min to another 10 min. After, the food was served, when asked to speak with a manager the server "Kaylen", stated their wasn't one. REALLY😒???? No one on duty is here that's in charge, on ONE of the most busiest Nights of the year? However, when asked for some type of compensation for the shenanigans....., i.e. a complentary meal for the birthday person? Kaylen (the server) stated, she could do something. Once returning, we were informed that the only thing that could be done was a complentary 🍸. So who told you that "Kaylen" if there's not a Manager on duty, smh 🤨. The excuse was because it was Valentines Eve & they had so many reservations & can't make people leave. You're absolutely correct about making people leave, but A) stop requiring reservations if you cant be accommodating with the times you give & B) when it serves as an inconvenience to the other party that has reservations, as a Merchant who would like continued business, especially in these times (COVID), YOU can make it right and beneficial to All involved. Clearly this isn't their business practice. And they don't honor their website, which advertises a FREE birthday meal. This was the worse experience ever. Do not waste your time visiting this location, especially if you're a stickler for great CUSTOMER SERVICE, because this is NOT where you...
Read moreI used to come here at least 1-2 times a week. The last time I went, I ordered 2 sushi rolls to go. It took 45 mins and the hostess was very rude.
My hot roll was cold when I got it and I didn't want it. When she asked me, I told the hostess that I was fine with paying for the other roll but I didn't want the one that was a supposed to be hot. I've had it cold before and it is like mush. I thought they would just remake it since I already paid for it but the hostess came back and mumbled that my refund was in the black credit card envelope she was giving to me. I was fine with the refund but I really wanted what I ordered lol. I didn't understand why my food was cold when I had been sitting there the whole time. I figured that it had been done but she just didn't pick it up when they made it.
They put my other roll in a small container and she gave it to me. I asked for a bag and she was visibly irritated. She gave me the bag But didn't put any chopsticks or soy sauce in it. When I asked for that, she was even more upset. I don't know, maybe she was just overwhelmed (I saw her spin in circles from confusion). It was a busy night and she seemed to be messing up a lot but I refuse to continue to spend any of my money at a place where the employee has an attitude with me after I waited 45 mins for cold food. I usually call in first but when I tried to, I didn't get an answer. If I would have known I would be waiting for 45 mins, I would have went somewhere else as I was on my lunch break.
My rating is a 4 because I've never had any other issues there. However because of this experience, there are other sushi restaurants in the area I would now rather spend...
Read moreI recently ordered a to-go hibachi steak and shrimp with a Shuchi roll from Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse. I’ve dined in before and had a great experience, so I decided to return for a to-go order. However, this time was very disappointing.
When I arrived and checked my food before leaving, I noticed the portion of rice was shockingly small — maybe 1/2 cup at most — especially considering the amount of protein and vegetables included. I politely asked the host if this was a normal portion, and she said yes. I requested to speak with a manager, just to clarify, as I couldn’t imagine that was standard.
The manager, William, came over but never looked at me directly or acknowledged me in a respectful way. He abruptly asked, "What’s the problem?" — which I found very rude and dismissive. I calmly explained that I had eaten at the restaurant before, loved the food, and came back because of that. I mentioned I was surprised by the small rice portion. His response? "Well, since you’ve eaten here before, you know we give you a small bowl of rice." Then he added, "Do you want me to go to the back and show you the bowl?"
At that point, I calmly told him no thank you — I only wanted to bring it to his attention. If nothing would be done, that was fine, but I expected a more professional and courteous response.
It’s disappointing that what could’ve been a simple conversation turned into an uncomfortable interaction. I truly hate that I won’t be returning, not because of the food, but because of the customer service. It felt like I was bothering him for simply asking a question. Customer service truly matters, and sadly, that was...
