The Gamblur — Restaurant in McHenry

My cuz and I gave this place a go St. patties day weekend. The bar was a bit busy with partiers. We ordered the 20 piece wings. The older female bartender was a kinda unfriendly but the younger female bartender/waitress was much friendlier so my cuz asked her how are the wings, she replies "they are good, I like them" so we placed the order for wings, bourbon and a Corona for me. The bourbon was heavily iced down with barely any alcohol so my cuz tells the older bartender that he was mot too happy with the "kiddie drink" containing mostly ice and barely any alcohol. We ate and to our dissatisfaction, the wings were not so good and a bit dry. My cuz relayed our didatisfaction to the older bartender and her immediate reaction was to lash out and tell.him that he is disrespecting her and her co-workers. M6 cuz gave the younger girl a $10 tip for being very attentive and we left. We will never waste our time and money with this place ever again and do not recommend anyone else bothering...

I went here with my husband one night for just a drink and again with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. The burger was perfectly cooked and so good! The beer was good. The place was redone a few years ago and was clean, relatively bright, and had plenty of places to sit at the bar or at tables. Service was prompt and friendly. After a point, we realized we were some of the oldest patrons, which was funny to us, but good to see a still. The prices are extremely reasonable. The only complaint I have is the bathrooms. I am not a very thin or very fat woman. Yet, I had to turn to the side in the stall to have enough room to close the door. It is extremely tight in the restroom, which made my friend and I remark about how awkward it had to be for bigger ladies because it was very awkward for us. It’s not enough for me to knock a star off, but it is something to be aware of if you are a larger woman. You’ll have an issue trying to get the stall...

Went to Gamblur last night and met some girlfriends My friend bought my first twisted tea. After that I had another twisted tea and a Miller lite and one shot. The bartender gave me my tab with no detail item check. The check was for $27.. $27 dollars I mean wow not a very good deal. There was no way three drinks cost $27 Could it... That’s what I thought by just paid the bill and left. I also left her a $10 tip. The real problem is.. This morning I look at my back statement online and the Gamblur has charged my card 2 more other times than my initial charge.. it’s very upsetting I’ve been going to the gamblur for YEARS! And was a previous employee for the great Doug. I’m very disappointed and hope this doesn’t...
