Tommy's Red Hots — Restaurant in McHenry

Ordered the same thing I always do. Gyro sandwich, extra meat, sans pita. I never eat the bread, but essentially I want all the junk that goes on the sandwich. The sauce, the tomatoes, the onions. I just don't eat the bread and why waste it? They normally get it right. I get a pile of meat slathered in sauce with all the stuff on top.

Today for whatever reason, they decided that's not what I wanted. They sent me two servings of meat. Dry, dry, dry meat. Nothing else. No sauce on top- (I ordered extra sauce, so I got some on the side.) no veggies. Here's the kicker. I call to gripe about it because the meat is THAT dry. the guy that answers tells me "well when people order just meat, they don't want all the stuff on it." Mkay- but I didn't order just the meat. I made it clear- and this is the identical thing I order every other time, why start interpreting my order differently today?

Resolution offered? I can come pick up the rest of the junk to add to my already dry meat, or I can wait until the next deliveries go out for them to deliver me... tomatoes and onions. Which is not going to resolve the dry meat issue. And it guarantees that I get to sit and starve while everyone else in my family gets to enjoy their meal fresh and hot.

Maybe it's an off day for them today, but the resolution was about as stupid as the mistake. Step...

I’ve gone there 3 different occasions at 3 different times ranging from 8pm-9:15pm being the latest when they close at 10. Two times I’ve asked for ribs and both times they told me it would be a 35 minute wait so they can finish cleaning the grill then turn it back on and wait for it to warm up. If you close at 10, why are you cleaning the grill at 8pm? The last time I went there I waited 8 minutes behind another car because they were talking to their friends. I saw one non worker basically hanging from the drive-thru window into the store. When I ordered at the window (the mic wasn’t working), I tried to get a burger, when they told me about the grill again I told him about the other two times I came and he told me “we shut the grill down when it’s slow” so I asked him even if it’s 2 hours before you close and he said “yes, whenever our slow period is we shut it down”. How am I supposed to order anything from the grill when no one knows when the slow period is and if it’s shut down 2 hours early we have to wait 35 minutes??? I was gonna order 3 full slabs thinking they could make it 2 hours before close but I guess not. If you want dinner from here especially something from the grill go 3 hours before they close or save yourself a trip and call and see if they closed the grill 3 hours early or not. Never...

2 of them Bad Experience- - ordered lunch for the office ribs - asked to substitute Onion rings instead of fries and what the Up charge was - told 50 cents. Opened order all fries there and Onion ringstoo left messages at the Corp Office No response for days. They had charged my Credit Card an additional 10.00 plus for the onion rings. Called another location and they got someone to call me back. Gave me a Value Meal which a week later when I called they had no idea and left me on hold for 15 min. Today I ordered Cream of Broc soup ( key word Cream) watery slop. Also asked for a BLT xtra crisp bacon and mayop on the side. Bacon was crisp the parts that were not stuck together in a wad - they were raw, oh yes BLT ususlly on white toast NOT HERE. Bread was dark rye not toasted - when I called McHenry - "It states on our menu that we do not have white bread" Really next to BLT on my menu it says nothing!!! I AM SOOOO DONE co workers can do whatever they want - they enjoy the ribns - I WILL NEVER go there call there and will continue to tell everyone in the Lake county area that I come in contact with about the Crappy Customer Service and Employees...
