Their pizza might be very good but they are very bad in service for catering. I was working with a catering manager April Wisner but she is very unprofessional and does not provide timely information. I started discussions early in Feb with her on how I needed the pizza oven for the date in end of May and she said that the oven was available and asked her to have a call as we had dietary restrictions so wanted to discuss on that. She goes by the books and did not respond to any of my calls… just straightforward messages that here’s the menu! She did not even confirm our tasting that was scheduled for a Friday and all she said is she is missing information whereas I had asked her that Monday if she needed anything for that Friday. On Thursday when I tried to reconfirm all I heard back was they are closed on monday… well then respond on Tuesday! She never responded.
Next thing I know is we cant go for tasting. I was disappointed so I called the restaurant with the hope to talk to her… as she never answered her work number from email. I did not get to talk to her but I got chance to speak with manager who was prompt and had me talk to the chef James Havey… they both were very helpful and willing to help set up tasting and accommodate my dietary needs.they even confirmed they had me on the calendar for the date I needed… we discussed and set up date and to assure keeping her in loop I send her an email with info she needed after I had brief chat with chef (all I needed was a brief conversation with someone who can help me pick what items to request for tasting that matched our dietary needs). We set up date of March 27 and next thing I here from her is my date is booked and I can no longer go for tasting: I have been in discussion with her since Feb 23! So disappointing and terrible service from their catering manager. I think she took it on her ego as I had chat with restaurant but if she would have been responsible and responsive to help answer my questions promptly I would have never called restaurant. Our family was super disappointed as we all love their pizza but due to this one person we were not able to cater pizza...
Read moreMy family and I have been big fans of Cavalli ever since this location opened. We decided to dine in for dinner last week for the first time post-Covid. Working in the restaurant industry for ten years, I could tell things had changed drastically as soon as we walked in the door. Bright lights, Rihanna blaring over the sound system, and a much younger staff who sported AirPods in the kitchen.
This may have been the first food service job for our waitress (or everyone working in the restaurant for that matter), but I didn’t see a single manager or authority figure in sight to provide proper training. The hostess and our server were sweet, but our server only seemed to appear every ten minutes or so. We had to ask for clean plates between salad and pizza...when our server came back with the plates, it wasn’t the correct amount, and we realized one person in our party didn’t have silverware all along.
Pizza was great, the salad recipe seemed to have changed a little. As we were eating, I turned around and noticed the very young bartender with his mask down eating a full pizza over the bar top filled with guests.
Overall, it was a bummer to see such a great restaurant with amazing food and atmosphere, which I would have previously given 5-Stars prior to Covid, go downhill so quickly. I’m not sure if management/ownership has changed, but I hope that someone is able to address these issues and bring back Cavalli to its...
Read moreFirst off, this place is good... not great but it's the only neopolitan pizza joint in town. We had kind of a frustrating experience last night. Ordered online got the confirmation of the order and showed up at the estimated time only to find the host says a person came and picked up my order 5 mins before, who does that, even after he says he'll have them remake it he still didn't confirm my order. A couple of problems with this, first how long was my pizza sitting there before they gave it to someone else? I'm sure everyone here knows neopolitan style needs to be eaten as close to when it comes out of the oven as possible, and while i know this is hard to achieve with takeout, its irritating knowing my pizza sat around before the time they requested I pick up. The kid host was nice I just wish they would actually confirm orders before they give them to random people. Lastly we got a noci salad the "dry" ingredients were nice. Beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts... great. The champagne dressing though? Nearly inedible to me and certainly inedible to my wife. The acidity was cranked to 12. After eating a few bites my mouth was raw like I had been eating sour candies all day. Don't get me wrong we've had several positive experiences but unfortunately about the same in unfavorable. I feel like this place could be much better if they could tighten...
