I REALLY have to give a big thumbs up to these guys at the Lakewood location! I have been to Golden Chick before, but where I live this is probably the closest location. My wife and I were expecting company from some of her family members. We went to the Popeye's location nearest us to get food for our visitors (mostly kids). The time happened to be 9:20 pm (they were scheduled to close at 10:00 pm). The employees did not answer the drive through, so after waiting a few minutes we drove to the window. There were employees walking around, but it appeared that they were ignoring the window. I opened my door, leaned over and tapped on the window. Eventually a lady came over and told us that they were closed. We could tell that they did not want to serve us. Even after we told them that we knew that their hours of operation were until 10:00 pm; they insisted on not rendering service. After this experience; my only concern was to find some place nearby that we could get food for our guests who were arriving for the night. I thought about the Golden Chick on Lakeview drive so we took a chance on them being open until 10:00. When we got to the location, they immediately answered the drive through mic. We confirmed with them what time they closed (which was 10:00 pm); and we proceeded to place our order. Being that our order was a large one, they let us know that it would take about 15 minutes or so. We did not care about the time; we were glad that they we able and willing to accommodate our needs.
We spoke with the manager Abel Rios and he made sure that our order was correct, and also let us know that they had extra food that had been prepared that would probably have to be thrown away, and if we were interested; he could just add that to what we had already ordered. I know that he did not have to do this but he did. He did not want to see good food go to waste, and since we had mostly kids coming; we thankfully accepted what they had leftover.
This experience has led me to become a full-time customer of Golden Chick. The level of dedication to their jobs; and the blessing that they were to my family that night is priceless. The food was wonderful as always; and I thank God that we were truly able to experience Golden Chick and their professional attitude during a rough period.
From a very loyal customer;...
Read moreI have came to this location for years, and the food is always good and fresh. Yesterday I had the worst experience that I have ever had at a fast food establishment.
I stopped to get something to eat for dinner before heading into a meeting and had a few minutes to get it purchased. I ordered through the drive thru and then went to the park nearby to eat and get onto the meeting.
I did not check my food because again, I have always been satisfied with the customer service and food.
I took a gulp of my sweet tea and my mouth was full of tea grounds. And I’m not talking about a little bit it was a lot. I immediately opened the car door and began spitting it out. It was horrific have all of it in my mouth with no way to rinse it out. I used napkins to try to get it all out of my mouth as well. I can’t even explain how bad it was smh
So in the middle of my phone meeting I drove back to Golden Chick and went through the drive through to tell them what happened. They did not even look at the cup just said sorry we can’t take it back and we will make you another one.
I said no just give me a Pepsi. There were a lot of young employees working inside that I can see through the window.
After I was handed my soda, I went back to the park less that a mile away and parked to listen into the phone meeting
I opened my box of food and my roll was raw and uncooked, my mashed potatoes were liquidy and I had no zing sauce that I requested for my tenders. It was just ridiculous!
At this point I’m livid. I was hungry and had not ate ALL day but I could not go back because I had to be on the call for the next 30 min to an hour.
So I just did not eat and stayed parked until my phone meeting ended.
I did not want to go back a second time so I just went home and threw away the food. When I was pouring the cup of tea that had the grounds in it down my sink, I had at least a half cup amount of grounds in the bottom of it - it was insane I’ve never seen anything like it before.
This has really dampened my opinion about your company and not sure if I will...
Read moreWhen this location opened, everyone in this area was pretty happy I'm sure. Food is good but a little too salty. Finally they just started playing some good old songs on the radio instead of the lack luster country music that has been on for several months. The biggest problem I see now is the type of customers coming in there. I was in last week and 3 teenage girls were in there making a scene like they were at chuck e cheese. Laughing loud, acting stupid and not being considerate that there are other customers in there. Went in today and 3 young guys were sitting at a table on the other side of the store, one of them was counting a large sum of money like he was daddy warbucks in front of everybody. Same thing as the girls, they were talking loud and these guys were cursing out loud. My 6 year old grandson said "One of them said a bad word!" and looked at me astounded. Luckily he didn't hear the other words they had already said and we finished up quickly and left. Of course management didn't ask either party to please keep it down or stop the cussing. I, as a paying customer do not want to be disturbed by loud inconsiderate people when I am trying to relax and enjoy my meal. And the cussing is not acceptable at all, especially when there are little kids just a few feet away. Why do places like this start attracting people that act like they are from the ghetto? McKinney for the most part is not. I would suggest that if you do go here to eat, and see these ghetto types coming in, or they are already there, I would recommend you leave immediately and don't go back. Since management won't tell rude customers to pipe down, I will take my...
