Okay but not great, honestly. Ordered several things intending to take them home: sweet chutney, which I expected to come with some pappad or similar, but was just a couple of oz of tamarind chutney in a bowl, momos and a couple of curries with bread.
Ordered the chutney and momos to start, but the momos came out ten minutes after the main course and the chutney with the curries. The bread basket was the best bit of the meal and the curry sauces quite nice, but the quantity of lamb in the curry wasn't particularly generous.
Positives: the people there are very, very nice and the kitchen looks quite clean as you walk past it. However, it wasn't a great dine-in experience and the food didn't make it worthwhile to go out of our way to come back.
Things to improve on: timing of how food comes out, clarity about what you get with chutneys, and sadly the chicken momos. They simply aren't very good and are quite bland as well as having an odd flavour mix. They were also all broken in the steamer, losing a lot of their juices. I've spent time in Nepal and India multiple times as well as a lot of time making momos with Tibetan friends and these just aren't it. If you're craving momos, you're better off getting Momo Stop - gas station momo shop in Irving, no joke they're legit. We left the...

My experience dining at 51 Rainbow and Momo House presented a mix of exquisite flavors and frustrating service inconsistencies. The restaurant excels in offering a genuinely authentic taste of Nepali and Indian cuisines, delivering dishes that are even more flavorful than anticipated. The in-restaurant service is commendable, marked by attentiveness and a welcoming atmosphere that promises a delightful meal.
However, the catering service falls significantly short of the restaurant's dining experience. Despite planning for scheduled meals, such as breakfast at 9 AM and lunch by 12 PM, the delivery was persistently late—often by two to three hours. This lack of punctuality proved challenging to manage and disrupted our plans considerably.
While the quality of food remains outstanding, the reliability of their catering services leaves much to be desired. If you plan to visit the restaurant, you can expect a wonderful meal. However, for those considering catering for events or gatherings, I would recommend exploring other options unless timing is not a constraint.
In summary, this restaurant shines brightly when it comes to flavor and dining experience but would benefit greatly from improving their time management...
Read moreMy coworker and I have made this our weekly go-to lunch spot, and it never disappoints! We always have an awesome experience at 51 Rainbow Indian Grill & Momo House. The service is super friendly and quick both the young lady and young man who’ve served us were GREAT. They’ve even encouraged us to try new dishes, which we’ve loved every time.
Before moving to Texas, my husband and I tried Indian food twice in New Jersey and honestly didn’t enjoy it. Because of that, I wasn’t eager to try again. But one of my Indian coworkers kept recommending 51 Rainbow and eventually brought me some Chicken Biryani. One bite and I was instantly hooked! Since then, I’ve gone back three times in just two weeks and even brought my husband, who now loves it too.
The food is outstanding highly recommend the Chicken Rogan Josh and Chilli Momo Chicken, both bursting with flavor. The Chicken 65 is perfectly crispy and tasty, the garlic naan is fresh and soft, and the Chicken Biryani (boneless) is absolutely amazing aromatic, flavorful, and generously portioned.
Everything we’ve tried has been spot on, and this place has quickly become one of our favorites. If you’re craving Indian or Nepali food, this...
