I've had this place bookmarked for awhile after a few friends that love food as much as I do were raving about it and how great the noodles are... One of my friends took me the other night. We pulled up and parked right up front. Friday night and no trouble parking... and no problem getting inside as there was no line. You'd think that no line meant that we'd get greeted and seated, but that took about 5 minutes. Then, after being seated, it still took about 10 minutes for someone to bring water to us. No greeting though. Just two dirty glasses half filled with water dropped at the table. The next time the guy came around, I asked for new glasses. Then, finally, someone came up to take our order. I asked about the broth and options. She said they offered veggie broth, so I was okay with that. I asked about the Chongqing noodles. She said they could make it with ground chicken and mild on the spice and add some spice on the side. My bowl came out and the broth was so red that there was no way it could have been mild. The ground meat was very brown. I couldn't tell what it was. I took a very small bite and it was very mushy. I then tasted the broth and bite of noodles. It definitely was not mild. I had to push the bowl aside and watch my friend eat her bowl of beef noodle soup. The waitress finally came back and we told her the noodles was too spicy. She then tells us they an add more broth. No, I don't want more broth. My friend tells her that we need the check and that they should take the Chongqing noodles off. She tells us she doesn't know if she can do that. Umm... if I can't/don't eat your food, why would I...
Read moreFirst of all, I am a Chinese Chinese - born and raised in China, came here a couple years ago. I have NOT found any comparable authentic places in the area, until I first walked in here a month ago. Since then, I have been coming here almost every other day. It’s always been so good and today I tried #7 Chongqing noodle medium spicy. It’s just a different level of awesomeness and authenticity. I have to leave a review at this point otherwise I’d be doing an injustice. Thank you soooo much for making me feel like Im eating in China. STOP LOOKING AT REVIEWS ANYMORE AND JUST COME HERE TO TREAT YOURSELF.
Update: Seems that lots of people complain how their "mild" is not mild. I have been eating there at least three times a week for the past four months now, and I'm telling you the spicy level comes from authentic Chinese food spicy level. If you cannot do spicy at all, just don't order it please. Ordering the best noodle ever (aka Chongqing noodle, or #7 on the menu), and complain for too spicy or leave a one-star review here because of it doesn't do any justice. Good thing the restaurant is keeping it the way it is, or else we wouldn't have any authentic Chinese restaurant in the area at all.
Tips: if you would like to avoid the line or wait, please avoid their busy hours. If you have to eat here during busy hours, then don't complain or leave bad reviews about the wait. Simply do everyone a favor and go to McDonald's or the classic "China wok or...
Read moreFood is not so good and owner is rude. Last night sometime passed 7, I felt it was too late to make dinner and decided to order something quick. I stepped into that restaurant for the first time and ordered a noodle dish. There were not one table of people at that time, and I waited patiently. After 40 minutes, I saw people came and go, but my order was still not ready. I was starving and felt dizzy because of low sugar. I asked the owner when my order will be ready and she replied it was by order. So I waited for another few minutes. I looked at all the orders on the board and got confused why it took so long to make a noodle. When I saw people come 20 minutes after got their food. I asked the owner again for my order. She got very impatient and just said it’s by order. I said if it hadn’t been made, I want to cancel it. She got mad at me and said “we are not only serving you!” And started to complain I came at busy hour and didn’t order ahead of time. When I asked to cancel my order again, she just tossed a box into a paper bag rudely and gave me “ took it”. Be aware of the temper of the owner!!! Customers are not treated like customers. And when I unpack my order, it looked and tasted terrible. My son refused to eat it. I will not go there again. That’s the restaurant you should avoid. BTW, the price is not printed on the old dirty menu, but...
