Where do I begin? In early December I committed to proposing to my now-fiancee as a surprise Christmas gift. I had gone to other jewelry stores in the area and left feeling like I was used car shopping. Running out of hope and time, I searched for jewelers in my area and came across Aspen. Turns out they were practically right across the street from me so I figured why not at least stop in?
From "Hello", my experience with Mike Estrada was completely different than any other jeweler I had been to. The process felt more like a collaboration and a partnership than a sales pitch. As Mike mentioned to me early on, they are salaried employees at Aspen. Now, this may not seem significant, but I think it is actually a key differentiator. Because commission from a sale is not their sole motivator, they genuinely want to provide the best value possible. I'll never forget, Mike said to me that he strives to provide clients with an experience and ensure that they are informed enough to make the best possible decision. I can personally attest the how honestly and sincerely he means that.
Anyone who has shopped for diamonds probably knows how many variables there are! More importantly, how much any one of those variables can significantly impact price! Mike took the time to honestly and objectively educate me on the qualities, characteristics, and even science behind diamonds. Again, it was truly a collaboration between he and I.
So, once we settled on a setting and a center stone, now came the hard part... paying and placing the order - LOL. As a typical guy, I waited until nearly the last minute to make this decision and Christmas was literally weeks away. Mike checked with his supplier and they were estimating a custom setting delivery of December 31st. Obviously this ruins the Christmas morning surprise, but Mike knew how important this was to me. I left thinking, "It is what it is," but asked Mike, "Anything you can do to make it happen..." he promised he would do everything he could and a day or two later he called me to say that my fiancee would have a ring to open Christmas morning! I don't know how he did it, but the 31st turned into the 21st!
I feel that from this experience I purchased ring, but also developed a relationship. Mike is so personable and genuinely caring that he even followed-up after Christmas to ask how the proposal went! I think he was just as excited as I was. I don't mean that jokingly either. I think because of that he genuinely cared enough to go above and beyond to make sure that not only the ring was perfect, but so was the actual proposal. Since then, my fiance has been back two or three times already. First, to meet Mike and then follow-ups for complementary cleanings.
I know this was long, but I honestly can't say enough good things about Aspen Jewelry Designs. I am so glad I made the decision to stop in and anyone looking for jewelry will certainly...
Read moreI've been a customer for several years and Aspen is my go to store for all gifts for my wife and daughter. I have come in the day before my wife's birthday, a couple of days before Christmas, and the day of my anniversary because...well, I don't have an excuse, but the point is Aspen and their great salesperson Mike, always come through for me. Mike actually just laughs if I come in a few days before an event and says "Wow, you're early this year"- Mike is great at his job, knows the business really well- what's the current "must have" item, etc. I enjoy my time at the store because everyone is so friendly and professional. Aspen makes so many custom pieces that you will definitely be able to find something that nobody else has and your significant other or whomever you're giving a gift to will really appreciate that. Aspen has been in business for over 30 years because they do right by their customers. The prices are extremely reasonable and the selection is outstanding. I have purchased various necklaces, bracelets, and a ring or two and my wife and daughter have loved every single one of them. I'm pretty sure my wife starts smiling as soon as she sees her gift is wrapped in that purple wrapping paper, because she knows she will love whatever is in that box. FYI: There is some online company that calls themself Aspen as well, be careful not to get them confused, this Aspen is in Herndon, VA and has been for a...
Read moreI'm not the type of person to typically write reviews, but I want to give major kudos to Mike and Aspen Jewelry Design for going ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I walked away happy. We went in to switch out one of the stones in my engagement ring, and after discussing the options with Mike, they special ordered a wide variety of stones for me to look at so that I could pick the one I liked. I chose one and they gave us a great price, did all of the work very quickly, and did a fabulous job. And then they went one step further - 3 days later, when I ultimately decided that I wasn't really happy with the color of the stone I had chosen (because I'm a crazy person), Mike was super understanding and helpful and went through the hassle of bringing in more stones, and switching it out for me again. I was only charged for the work and the difference in stone price and they got my ring back to me the very next day. I absolutely love my ring now and I'm so happy that they were willing to work with me and go the extra mile to make sure I left with the ring I wanted. Mike was knowledgeable and wonderful to work with - We will...
