This was the first time we came to the restaurant and it will definitely be the last. First we came in around 6pm on a Monday night and started looking at a takeout menu and the host gives us another menu saying the font is bigger. OK. We ask if they have pizza as we didn't see it on the menu. He gives us another menu because it is on the lunch menu not the dinner menu. Fine. Then he brings us yet another menu because he says the prices are different because it isn't lunch time. Really, you need 4 menus???
We came in knowing we wanted pizza, finally get the correct menu this should be a quick, but it isn't we are waiting several minutes before a waitress gets our drinks, but she isn't our waitress we had to wait 10 minutes for her to show up and when she does she asks if we need more time to look at the menu not even acknowledging that we had been waiting and asks if we wanted anything to drink not noticing that we already had them. After several minutes and then drops off bread and rolls, but packets of the butter in the basket had already been used! The only reason I can see is that they reuse the rolls the bread/rolls that aren't eaten from past customers and apparently don't even take the time to see if anything has been used or not! I didn't eat any of their rolls and frankly if we hadn't already ordered and been waiting a while I would have just left. If they are willing to cut corners like that in the front of the store what sanitary corners are they cutting in the kitchen?
Then the pizza finally comes after a long wait. First the pizza is 14 inches which is already smaller than most places. The crust is closer to a flatbread than a pizza and I typically like thin crust. Flavor wise there was nothing special about it not something I would come back for. But we had more service issue as well. The waitress never gave us full-size plates so we ended up using the small bread plates which left the pizza hanging over the sides. The waitress never stopped back to ask how anything was, nor did she ever refill any of the drinks which were empty. In fact, she seemed to deliberately be avoiding even looking at our table to go to her other tables with more customers (and presumably higher bills therefore tips). When we finally were able to get her attention to ask for a box and a check she took the remaining slices of pizza away and boxed them for us fairly quickly, but on opening the box she had put the pizza slices literally on top of each other (despite have the space to put them next to each other) so they would have stuck together if we hadn't checked. She was taking a long time to stop back so we asked if we could pay at the register and were told no pay the waitress. We finally get her the bill was $12:83 we gave her a $20. She asks if we need change. First, no one leaves a $7 tip for a $13 order, second the service was horrible based on our experience she doesn't even deserve any tip (we did leave one but she didn't deserve one). So we pay her. Does she cash us out so we can leave? No. She goes around to every other table she has then she talks to one of the other waitresses, brings salads to a table then several minutes after we gave her the money she finally gives us our change, but she only gave us $7 back $20 -$12.83= $7.17. I know seventeen cents isn't a lot and it may seem nitpicking, but we never said she could keep it, she never asked to keep it. If I buy something and get change back I expect to get what I'm owed if I say to keep it or I choose to leave it that is one thing but for her to do that especially after such a horrible experience I find it very offensive. We came in at around 6pm we got to our car at 7:15pm that is over an hour to get 1 pizza. I could go to Shoprite buy a frozen pizza come home cook it and eat it in less time. Or go to any number of other restaurants that will have it ready in 15-20 minutes, or even order delivery. Any of those would have been faster and better than this experience. I'll never be back and I encourage everyone else to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently tried Femmina Italian Grille for the first time after living in the area for 15 years. First, the good. The place is nice and clean inside, with lots of natural lighting. The service was very good, considering how busy they were. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of the food was above average. I had a veal dish, and the veal was pouded thin and deliciously tender. All of the various sauces we had were quite tasty. Next, the less as good. The parking lot is tiny, and it can be a problem finding a spot. They cram a lot of tables close, which gives a feeling of claustrophobia, and the interior volume level in the restaurant as a result is quite high. You may have to shout or read lips to understand the person sitting across from you. Two of my party had chicken dishes, and while they liked the taste, remarked that the chicken was overcooked a bit in both. The pastas we had were also not al dente, which is our personal preferences. All this said, the overall experience was still quite positive, and we will be back...
