I got to the Runway Fashion exchange at around 5pm, on the 4th of July. There were only two ladies working there that I saw. You know who you are. I have nothing against the lady who checked me out (lady #1), though she did not greet me when I first walked in. I had to greet her, just so she knew I was in there and didn't think I was sneaking in or anything, as I was one of the only ones in there an hour before they closed. I've been here multiple times, and have never had a problem with the staff. The other lady working there (lady #2) was following me around and keeping her eyes on me as if I was going to steal something. Sure, I was taking my time, looking around, you know, shopping, enjoying myself. And she thought I was stealing. Whenever I needed something new to wear, Runway was the first place I would think to go. Not anymore. I asked to try on the clothes that I had selected and she told me I had to put my bag behind the counter because it was "store policy". I have never, ever been asked to place my bag at a door or at the counter, in any place I have shopped. There are no signs stating that I need to keep my bag behind the counter, even where the try on policies are located. Once I was in the changing room, I overheard another lady wanting to try on something. They never once asked her to put her bag behind the counter and never enforced the "store policy" onto her. I walked out of the changing room at the same time as the other lady and I saw her bag clear as day wrapped around her arm as she came out. I felt very judged and very disrespected. I held my tongue while I was in there and bought the outfit that I needed, and told them to have a good day. But the more I think about it, the more I felt it was very unfair how I was treated in there. I was going to buy more things but they depleted my energy after I realized how I was being treated and I put everything else away besides what I needed. Now I'm not quite sure if I will ever be back to shop there. A loyal customer deserves allot better than to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this store, and buy about half of my clothes here. I'm shocked and disappointed to see the negative reviews, and the content of those reviews. It's just a number of entitled women being personally insulted by a resale store not purchasing their items. They have no obligation to buy the pieces that you think they should buy. Maybe they didn't buy your designer jeans because they are overstocked on that size or designer? Maybe they aren't buying that type of item because they will not be rolling out that season and do not wish to keep it in their stock rooms that long? These are just things that I consider when I bring in clothes to sell. And what does it matter? If you don't like the price they're offering, do something else with that item of clothing. Don't try to destroy a business just because you didn't get what you were hoping for. The items they sell are varied and well priced. I would pass on 90% of what's in the store, because I'm really picky about what I like and my particular style. But I still always find something that I like and I feel like there is something there for pretty much anyone, of any size. I can't say the same for going to the mall. You're not going to find this kind of variety in a department store. And half of the fun of shopping at a thrift store is searching through so many pieces to find that special thing that calls to you. I love what they do here. I've always found the staff to be kind and professional. Aloof sometimes, maybe, but I'd feel a little aloof some days after listening to people whine about the used Calvin Klein jeans I didn't offer them enough money for. Working retail is rough. So I don't take that kind of stuff personally. They are attentive where it matters, and if you are friendly and not a PITA I'm sure you can expect them to be just as friendly to you. To anyone who hasn't been here yet, definitely check it out! I enjoy it and even if I leave empty-handed, I have fun hunting around. I'll keep...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally donāt write reviews, but I had such a negative experience at this store today (June 15th). I was treated very rudely by the workers there. I hope they can receive some training in customer service.
I got to the store at 5pm knowing they close at 6. I walked around and gathered an entire arm-full of clothes to try on. At 5:28 one worker announces ādressing room closes in 2 minutesā with no prior warning. I wasnāt done looking, but asked her to try on my items. She looked at my items and said āare you going to be 2 minutes, cuz the dressing room closesā - I looked at the clock and said donāt you close at 6? And she said āyeah but we have to close the dressing rooms so we can close on time.ā
So I went and tried my items on anyways after spending a half hour looking through the clothes. Then 2 minutes later she bangs on my door saying ādressing rooms are closed. Can you hand me the items you donāt want?ā So I handed her some, but I continued to try on my clothes since the store didnāt close for another 30 minutes. I would have bought more but they were rushing all of us out. I heard another customer say sheās not buying anything because she didnāt have time to try on items.
I felt so unwelcome and pushed out of this store, and it was not like I walked in there 2 minutes before closing time.
Iāve worked in customer service for years and could never ever imagine treating customers the way they did. If it takes them 2 more minutes to put a customers clothes away, they will still get out āon timeā since they were so concerned, while also not losing customers! I left by 5:45- well before their closing time.
I will never be going back...
