Manhattan Bagel — Restaurant in Media

Service gets a zero, they only get one star for the quality Manhattan Bagel food they carry . Went there this morning. Staff too busy attend to the coffee bar. The bald headed Arab sandwich guy is rude and appears to have a special distaste for minorities. I ordered a whole wheat bagel, lightly toasted with extra butter. He instructed his assistant to make a one with no extra butter and not toasted. I saw her make it so when he attempted to sell it to me I asked him if it was toasted he lied to me and told me yes. I insisted on inspecting it and of course it wasn't toasted. I offered to get only my coffee(which was stale) but the rude bald head yelled that I could leave the coffee too. I was relieved because the coffee was stale but stunned that I got that kind of service from Manhattan Bagel store. There is a WAWA next door they have better coffee and probably better service and better made sandwiches. If this is a company store they should fire the bald head, if it's a franchise Manhattan Bagel should withdraw their license to protect the brand. Compared to the Manhattan bagel store that I go to in Moorestown, NJ this place is dismal. I don't know what the people of Media did to deserve such a shop but then again they probably don't know what a proper Manhattan Bagel...

I have been coming here and Glenolden location for years. I did stop coming to Media for a couple years ago because of, I think he was the manager. He was rude and sweaty. I then started coming back because it seemed like it was under different management. I like Manhattan bagels, but they are getting smaller and smaller. They are now the size of a Dunkin’ donut! I came across a place called Custom Bagels several blocks away in Media. I was hoping for a larger bagel, but was disappointed there as well. I do like the flavor of their bagels too though. I was up in North Jersey working and stopped at a bagel shop and you’ll see my photos. The comparison is outrageous and unacceptable. The cost is about the same. I think we are paying a little bit more actually. Why can’t the shops around us show some decency and give us a bagel that’s acceptable in size?? Oh, and by the way, the reason I went searching for another bagel shop was because when I came to Manhattan during the second week of November ‘24, I took home nine bagels and half of them were clearly from the day before!! Have stopped in on Sunday’s for years. Today I forgot my wallet and didn’t realize until the order was ready, I tried to pay by phone but it’s new and pay app not set up, I offered to call and pay by phone but the owner said they couldn’t. I understood and he asked if I would come back but it’s not very close and told him no I couldn’t. He came out to my car and told me they would not take my food order anymore and I asked “what” in surprise and he told me that he couldn’t waste the food like that or take cards over the phone. My kids were disappointed but we all got a laugh when I told them that my tips to this guy over the years would’ve paid ten times for the four bagels that I ordered We talked about how a business needs to run and about some other ways to handle it but for today we’re having Wawa.
