I had my usual hankering for a gyro. I looked at a few places but they were either closed or, after asking a few questions, realized they had no idea how to make a proper gyro (ranch dressing is not tzatziki sauce). I place it as the worst gyro I ever had. Is tied with another place that used the frozen version and the meat was overcooked, dry, and flavorless. I give this place kudos for using the actual proper rotisserie style, which usually means tasty , but the meat was horrible. It was more like eating a Steak-umm and what's with putting fries in a gyro? I asked for no fries in it but it still came stuffed in them. On top of that, I was annoyed that I was asked to put in a tip before I had even tried the food, the service, or even sat down at my table. As I sat there, I got to look around and noticed that the place was spot cleaned. It started to look like the place had barely been cleaned. The windows were clean but even the table we were at was not cleaned properly and the floors had black, worn sections where traffic was. It did not make for a pleasant dining experience. In conclusion, I did not finish my gyro. I cannot say anything about anything else but if they cannot make something as simple as a gyro properly, it makes me doubt the rest...
Read moreOne of our daughters had a craving for a gyro so we gave Yeeroh in Media a try. We had eaten at Yia (fam favorite) previously in the same location, and appreciate local Greek fare.
We ordered a couple of classic gyros, a pork gyro, and a house gyro. Online ordering was easy, and our food was hot and ready to be picked up at the appointed time.
I think we four all agreed on the overall rating of the sandwiches. The meat was acceptably cooked, though not juicy. The gyros had some yogurt in them (maybe tzadziki but not obvious), some diced onions, and a few French fries (?). No obvious tomato. Overall we felt they were average.
We’re not sure how long Yeeroh has been open in Media. Maybe they are newly opened and just beginning to get things running. We’ll try again in the future to see if things change.
So - if you have a hankering for a gyro in or near Media these will scratch the itch, though the sandwiches we had won’t knock...
