Quality of service absolutely was the worse. Took the server 15 mins to get to us to even hand us menus and than walked away again. Server was repetitive on checking other bar tops and making sure he got orders. Another 10 mins went by and finally came back to us and got our drinks. Waited 15 mins for our drinks to even hit the table. Server never asked us if we wanted to order appetizer while taking our drink order or when dropping off the drinks. Came back to take our order, as we ordered appetizers to be our first and than our food. Ordered two SIDE salads with our meal. And I had asked him what came in a SIDE salads and he told me lettuce, tomato and onion. Food came out in a timely manner but food and appetizers and salads came out all together. Than upon checking out. Our order total was very high as I was not expecting. Paid thee first time. And than went and asked the server regarding the SIDE salads and told us he heard us say their Sand Salad which was incorrect. As not knowing how there salads were never ordered side salads from here before. He went to the manager and they only took off $4 note the salads were $15 a piece which totaled $30. And only gave us a $4 off. The total amount the first time came off my card and out of my account. So he tried to charge me twice for my meal. He asked very rudely if I wanted him to get his manager and I responded yes please . Manager came to my table and stood up for the server who was in the wrong to begin with. Manager told me there was nothing else she could to do to help us with the bill and being charged wrong. And continues to charge me twice for my order as she would not let us leave until it was paid. So in the long run I was charged over $300 for one single meal with my fiancé. For something that was not worth it to begin with. So all around the manager said the money from the first charge should go back on my card in 2-3 days. And still charged me again for the meal. So to say I left ticked off is an understatement....
Read moreHorrible experience. Seated ourselves upstairs, and we waited 15 minutes before anyone greeted us to grab us waters. After that we waited another 15 minutes for our waitress to come back and take our orders. After that she comes back 10 minutes later to tell us that they’re out of calamari. We decided to get a side salad instead, and it didn’t come out for a while, only for it to be a sad excuse for a salad, being a small cup of arugula (when the menu states it is romaine lettuce) and some croutons. Again, our waitress never came back to check on us to see how our salad was, and we had to grab her to tell her it was wrong, and she said she’d take it off the bill. Fast forward 40 minutes, we are still waiting for our food and ask our waitress where it is, only for her to tell us that the kitchen is “backed up” (the place wasn’t, it was barely busy). She finally offered us to get a refill on waters, after we had been here for 50 minutes. Mind you, there are other tables who were seated after us, who had got their food and already left. Once we get our food (a whole hour and 15 minutes after we ordered) we immediately ask for Togo boxes and the check. Our server said that the manager “took care of our meal”, when they still tried to charge us $15. Seeing this, we asked our server if we could speak to the manager, and after she went to get him she came back saying that we “were fine and didn’t have to pay”. So what does that say about the manager? Did he just want to see if we would pay that $15? If he could at least squeeze some money out of us? Who knows. This was a horrible dining experience. Not to mention the food is incredibly mediocre, and overpriced to the moon. I can’t believe I almost ended up paying $24 for some frozen bang bang shrimp on white rice with a sliced grape tomato and 2 pieces of arugula. Save your money, time, and headache by going...
Read moreBreakfast: Good eggs Benedict, and surprisingly good biscuit w/ gravy. Breakfast potatoes are stellar & you can swap for fresh fruit (mostly berries) if you'd like. Jennifer was our server and such a pleasure.
Lunch: The Sands burger is on a standard bun, but the patty is loosely packed and not over-pressed so even a well done burger is tender and juicy inside. It has carmelized onions and arugula on it for flavor and texture. The Bleu cheese dressing is great, but the side salad is pretty small for $4 - about the size of your fist, with lettuce, red onion, tomato. Wish they could set you up with a side included since the sandwiches are $15-$19 and sides are $4-6. There's a decent beer selection, with a couple IPAs on draught & lots of bottles to choose from. We also got the chicken caprese sandwich which was on a baguette with mozzarella, basil spread (not the traditional pesto I was expecting, but good), arugula, and grilled chicken. Next time I go back I'll get the burger again, as the chicken was good but something about it felt oily & I needed some Tums after. 😅 Downstairs has a beautiful view and larger tables along the railing, upstairs has more side-by-side bar-like seating and a few tables for two along the railing. There are larger tables upstairs that are further from the railing where the view is, though. Our server wasn't very proactive with information about the menu or drinks, and they may have taken a break at a point because we only saw them twice. Other servers occasionally checked in on us though, so service as a whole was good. Love the view, love the setup, prices are okay, burger...
