Dolly's Wine Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

As a wine enthusiast, their selection is superb! I love that their selection includes international small producers and incorporates lesser known wines such as orange wines. And, I love their decor, especially the hidden booths in the far back that a thoughtfully curated with different themes. However, their service is a bit lackluster.

The first time I went, I was with a group of friends and was very obviously overlooked while everyone including my spouse was greeted and service. One of my friends had to flag the waitress back for me to put an order in. I chalked it up to the bar being busy, and with my past experience as a waitress and bartender, it can be overwhelming when a large group puts an order in.

The second and most recent time though, I had to stand up and ask a waitress for the menu to be serviced. Got my wine rather quickly, which I was thankful for, but after 15 minutes of waiting with our emptied wine glasses off to the side and our waitress avoiding our table, my spouse had to go to the bar to order another round and close out. Never saw the waitress again after the first glass of wine.

An atmospheric addition EGAD (Eau Gallie Art District) didn’t know it needed! Dolly’s Wine Bar is a culmination of style and selection from a well versed visionary, Erica. Stylistically this place can best be described as “upscale, yet approachable”. Dolly’s is a cozy wine bar with a fun, eclectic vibe. Kendyl was a fantastic host—friendly, attentive, and great at suggesting wines that matched my taste.
