Luv LUV this place cuz they're the revolving liquid heart of EGad.
I've been coming here since the beginning, when it was just changed from Food2U. At first it was a cold stark steely taproom & their brews were too trendy for me (also, lactose used), but I admired the owner cuz he had a vision & I'm super happy for him that it finally came to fruition.
Rico is the bomb btw, holding down the food truck. I had a lot of critiques over the years cuz some tings just weren't right lol but he got Brussel sprouts back on the menu so YAYY, nothing better than good greens to go w/good brews. Espec when it's an IPA, pref imperial- so plz brew more!
Nowadays, it's got evrryting a brewery could hope for- location, locals, biergarten, top deck (weekends only 21+), fooooood & most importantly, respect. They bring the community together& that's beyond special.
Long live good brews, keep that bier flowing through the veins of EGad & I know it'll be a generational venue, espec w/all the live music they're starting to bring through!
Only ting that's lame sometimes is the service from one particular girl with glasses. She deliberately doesn't take my order & I've seen her give other customers really nasty looks behind their back. Can't tell if it's just a bad day ting, but it's been so consistent that sometimes if she's workn, we leave. I don't need to chance my mellow mood being ruined by a bitter person.
I'd rather the IBU in my brew! haaha
Now, if prizes for trivia were as high as the turnout, I'd go more often but 10$ gift card for 2nd place is hilarious for how busy it gets. Biers used to be 6$ across the board but now it's changed to cores at 7$ & the other rotating ones vary. It'd be nice to win& split some beers for the team. Or offer a pitcher! I miss when pitchers were a norm to share. .. or how about mug night?! Mug night club? For trivia? There's so much to hope & look forward to here hahah
It's also funny how they state its a "micro" brewery on their site when their distribution/canning is massive now. Cocoa beach brewing was micro, so was Florida beer when it was on us1. This is NOt micro, yo! This is a legit operation that is rapidly expanding. So, don't forget to take some home =]
Speaking of, don't forget to take labels off the cans to properly recycle, too! Mad respect for the "Remove Label" tab, makes for great stickers. Oh yeah, ask for stickers! Danke & you're welcome. Stay...
Read moreSurprisingly enough, I visited Intracoastal twice in one weekend. Met up with coworkers for happy hour on Friday and met up with an old friend on Saturday night.
Beer - Decent selection of beers, though pretty heavy on IPAs and porters. Both of which are not my go-to favorites. In all fairness, I'm pretty sure they change their selections seasonally. If you can endure the act of what seems like drinking a pork chop, the Irish Slammer is a nice and heavy option for you. As you would expect, flights are available too.
Menu - The location itself does not serve food, but there is a "resident" food truck on location. You order at any of the bars counters and the food is brought out to you. See my review for Intruck Coastal Bites.
Ambience - Only spent my time outside in the beer garden areas. Lots of picnic tables to sit down in a "social table" environment. Tables were pretty full on Friday evening, less so on Saturday night after 7pm. Lots of children too - looks like a lot of young families meet up here. Even without kiddos of my own, I don't find this to be an issue at all, in fact its something very European and familiar to me. However, be advised that its both very child and dog friendly.
Service - To put it simply: lacking. I don't know what's going on here. Friday night bartender appeared bothered by me asking for the beer list and food menu, and never once looked at me as she took my order. Saturday night bartender appeared clueless and oblivious to my presence. I approached each time with a smile and good vibes and only got disappointing service from these bartenders. Seeing the interactions with a few patrons around me, I got the feeling they see a lot of regulars. Anyways, service is a huge turn off here.
Authenticity - Yeah its authentic in the sense they get really creative with their brews. That being said, its a little much for my tastes. Very outlandish selections and it leaves you with few options that aren't...
Read moreHad an absolutely terrible experience here today. Not at all sure what upset her, but the bartender/waitress we got (long, dark hair, Pocahontas tattoo) was extremely rude to right off the bat it never got better. I was seriously questioning what I could have done to upset her, it was that bad.
While being extremely nice and friendly to other guests, she talked to me as if I were a complete idiot and seemed genuinely upset by my presence. I've never met her before and I don't live in the area. Eventually her attitude shifted toward my entire family as well.
We were told 40 minutes after we ordered food that they were out of certain things. We got this notification shortly after asking our waitress if the food was coming, as we saw numerous patrons who arrived after we did receive their food, and she gave us an extremely disgruntled eye roll and a: "They're cooking it." before not returning to our table ever again.
I came here with my 94 year old grandmother who has dementia and was constantly asking if our food was ever going to come. When her food arrived, it was tiny and cold.
We did manage to complain to the manager, who did sympathize and tell us that the particular waitress in question doesn't do well under stress and comped a number of our items.
My sister and I left before the rest of our group to make a tattoo appointment and we ran into our waitress blocking the exit to loudly complain to a customer about the fact that we had complained to her manager.
2 stars because their kiwi sour bear was wonderful, and because literally every other person, including the people at the tattoo shop we talked to said this was a great place to come. I truly wish we had the...
