5 major let downs I will be describing First off. Well we were seated and they brought us some "aguas frescas" which are pineapple supposedly and just to be sure I asked waiter if they are fresh fruit mix which he said yes. So I ordered and got disappointed. In reality it was the powdered artificially flavored pineapple. I ordered horchata and was too sweet and tasted bad too but I was embarrassed to ask him to change it out too. So was my partner let down so she settled for carbonated soda from the fountain machine. Secondly, the chips are way too hard and felt like they have been there for a long time. No flavor whatsoever. Also the salsa was below par. At this point I wanted to leave but I wanted to try the food. Third, the restrooms seemed awfully cheap looking compared to the whole atmosphere there. It was clean at least Fourth, they really cooked every way over cooked.. for example the steak wasnt appealing looking. Looked grayish and soggy. We ordered the tabla meal which was 43 and some change but we thought it was reasonable. Fifth, we saw the menu offered "roasted street corn" so we decided to try it out. Only to see it looked straight out of a can type of corn. Soggy and full of mayo. With a little spice and cilantro. You can taste the mayo more than you can taste the corn. So much for roasted corn huh... Absolute false advertisement I guess on their behalf. Sadly I won't be coming back. Far from being authentic and all. The vibe was nice though. One of the only restaurants I've gone to that actually plays Mexican music in a Mexican restaurant.. which is great but for a business to play music with YouTube ads well it doesn't sit right. I mean I'm sure the owner is loaded with cash. Maybe has a house with Beach front but just shrugs off having to pay a measly 14.99 a month for no ads.. who am I to judge right? Waiter was on point so we tipped him about 30% of the total bill. Not his fault the place needs a lot of attention to detail.

Really wanted to try .. super busy. Clean place. A little tight to walk in and out . They do have outdoor seating but it's in the back. Didn't notice til later. The chips are good. Salsa is a bit watery for a place called salsas. The carne asada was a bit under seared. They love their onions.. literally every meal we got was covered in slops of them. Granted this is a Saturday evening. Maybe busier than usual. The waitress was super nice. Food came out so quickly .. the fajitas were just tiny bites of meat. Unfortunately. The cheesy burrito our father seemed to like ... they have topo chico water .. yay!. My father walked away without his keys as he leaves them on the table sometimes. And they were quick about taking them to the back in some hidden area. So weird. I went right back to retrieve them and was met with a rude lady coming out of the kitchen thinking I was blocking her door for fun... I said I just watched another lady walk in with our keys. I need them back. So weird. Car keys .. you would think you would put them at the host/ hostess counter.. for us as we can't really leave without them. .. it took so long to get them back.. my father and husband came to find out what the issue was... Anyways. Other than that the decor is awesome... The place needs to be bigger!! It's so cramped but they did their best to put as many tables as possible.. overall. The food wasn't the best.. and the fresh avocado was good.. but the guac and sour cream were also watery. .. I think I might try again on a less busy night. .. very small bar area if that is what you're looking for.. . They have a tight kitchen too. CraZy how small it is.. but I think the food would be better if they took a lil bit longer to make it. And serve it without so much onionssss and dripping sauce from my steak.. gorgeous place thou

Salsas Cocina 5559 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32940 5 Star (Chain restaurant review) This is a local chain with 12 locations throughout the Sunshine State. I like the use of this space. It is maximized for use but still looks new, even though the restaurant is a few years old. Francisco is our waiter, but he disappeared. Thankfully, Giselle took over and she is a pro. I asked Giselle for one order of Mexican Mole (Chicken) and an order of their Ceviche (against my editor's better judgment). Like eating Oysters in a buffet, he learned a long time ago never to order it. When the dish consists of seafood and citrus, beware, as the citrus is often used to mask overly ripe proteins of the seven seas. About 15 minutes after Giselle placed my order, Francisco reappeared. Strangely, Giselle told me the tips were not pooled and refused a tip. One of my new favorite Mexican dishes is Chicken Mole. This dish was outstanding. The chicken was tender and succulent, cooked to perfection. The Mole was firm, supple, and undulated across my tongue like many Colubrids. The complexity of the sauce is to be admired. Moving on, it was time to sample their Ceviche. Looking at the pictures, one can see how fresh it appeared. Trust me. It was. The chef's presentation of the avocado on top was so artful and ithyphallic that it became the talk of the table, adding a touch of humor and sophistication to the meal. The seafood was exceedingly fresh and melted on the palate. In a word: Delicioso! Take that, Mr. Editor-In-Chief! Unbelievably, Francisco returned and asked if I was ready for the check (I had already taken care of it with Giselle). The Big Boy says, “Mexican food is like Francisco and Giselle. It is hit or miss. This was definitely a hit (despite my short interactions with Senor Perderse).”

We have dined here weekly as our children go to holy trinity right behind the establishment it seems a lot of times when we come in the servers get things confused many don’t speak English thus the confusion which we always let go and we get wrong Orders point last night when we ordered drinks and my daughter ordered cheese, cheese, enchiladas and she got chicken enchiladas. They brought out a different one, but as we were getting ready to eat the other food that was on the table, we noticed bugs two bugs crawling through the food when we called over the server no one seemed to be concerned. Finally, a female manager shows up not the owner who is usually wonderful corrects things she was EXTREMELY rude. Had my daughter in tears saying that it’s from eating outside that bugs fly around and we live in Florida no, these were not bugs with wings. These were bugs that were crawling in the food and she continued to be rude saying we complained the last time that we were there and the time before the time before yes, the food was wrong. The last time we were seated at a table and she literally came out to the patio and told us we had to get up because it was reserved when I’ve called before to reserve a table and was told no reservations they are walk-in only! Time before that meat enchilada when we don’t eat meat and ordered chicken! 2x the high chair straps were dirty and broken a hazard to a small child finally called the owner who immediately apologized. You don’t come out and argue with patrons who have had wrong food brought out and than bugs crawling in the food and make the patron the problem. The manager was extremely rude argued with us and continually told us that we didn’t have to come back to her restaurant and as a manager, she gets very frustrated when people complain!

For some reason it’s not allowning to post the picture and video of the rice bugs crawling in our food ? apologize take the dish off and offer to replace it!!! Most people wouldn’t have returned after the first issue we had months ago but again we attend sporting games next door so it’s convenient

I took a new guest a few weeks ago he arrived before me and was never told about happy hour he ordered a margarita and was given a 16.00 one when I arrived I ordered the 6.00 margarita happy hour he was so upset they never advised him of happy hour up served him a 16.00 margarita Same manager was nasty and rude my friend refuses to go back

We were gracious to keep coming but if you think we will accept wrong food bugs a without saying anything??? If the food’s good we eat and are happy and on our way this woman is a detriment to the business no professional skills The owner is very nice I asked her for him but he...

Finally got to try this restaurant tonight and have to say, I was disappointed. I should have walked away when we first got the menu that read like a legal disclaimer. $4 charge for chips after two bowls. Not responsible for items left on the table. No refunds on food or drinks. Right to deny service. But no, I kept reading, setting myself up for the sticker shock on the pricing. Everything was much higher than I’d normally expect for a Mexican restaurant, but since we were already there I thought maybe the taste and the portions justified the price? So, I pushed on.

We were seated close to the bar and the noise was outrageous. I’m not one who demands silence when eating, but if I wanted to hear people whooping it up, I would have gone to a sports bar. If you’re hoping for a quiet meal, forget it. On top of that, there is a garage door they have that opens the side of the restaurant up to the outdoor seating which is nice that it lets in the sun and air, only it also lets in all sorts of bugs. We spent the entire meal swatting at flies and flying ants. Nothing like that impromptu picnic feeling when you were planning on eating indoors.

My wife got a chicken burrito that barely had any chicken it for $14 and I got the Molcajete Fajitas for $26! Yes. $26 for fajitas! When the food arrived the portion size was good, except for the fact that I was given a whopping three itty bitty flour tortillas to eat my meal with which were gone with more half the fillings still left to go. When I flagged my server down and asked her for more tortillas, I see her immediately go to the computer and yup, you guessed it, I was charged $2 for three more baby tortillas. Call me cheap, but for $26, I expect to be given enough tortillas to be able to make fajitas with the fillings given and not to be nickel and dimed for the couple more tortillas that I would need to finish my meal. Food quality was decent, but I’ve had way better at other local places for a lot less money.

On top of all that, the service was poor. Our server, while nice, just didn’t get the job done. She never asked if we wanted any more chips, but instead removed then from the table when our $13 nacho appetizer arrived. She never checked to see how the food was. And, cardinal sin for me, she never once refilled our drinks; although considering how they charge for everything, I probably would have been hit with a water refill surcharge.

If you’re looking for overpriced, mediocre Mexican food, then give this place a try. Otherwise, you’ll be better off elsewhere. We will not...
