Space Beans Coffee — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have been waiting for this place to open but unfortunately from the first visit I won’t be back. I ordered a large Nutty Irishman

It came by default with dark roast (unusual for most coffee places with signature lattes). The balance between coffee and flavors was unbalanced in my opinion. But if you want a dark roast. Definitely could be someone’s go to.

The barista at the time was Jim based on my receipt and I would be lying if I said he appeared to want to be there in any regard.

Then the checkout had a 30% top as a default option which is insane to me.

One coffee took an incredible amount of time, doubled up by waiting for a long time for the one coffee before us to be finished despite being the only other person in there.

Better staff training and better coffee balance and this...

Their beans aren't roasted by them, they're just relabeling beans from another roaster from TX and I couldn't find mention of this on their product pages unless you zoom in on their product images. Kinda disappointed

Update: Here is a bag of the beans from Space Beans that says it's roasted by Apex Coffee in Waco, TX. When you go to the Apex Coffee website, they are a wholesaler that sells roasted beans to other companies. Bag doesn't say roasted by Space Beans in Texas. Come on now. Just buy it from Apex and skip the middle man.

Update 2: I understand how you work, you order "your blend" from apex which they then roast their beans, they or you put your label on it and then you sell it. Which is why I wrote that you don't roast your beans because that is true. You don't roast them,...

I arrived around 7 AM and the store and plaza were empty. Two employees were working, and when I pulled up, they walked around the counter to take my order and prepare my coffee.

The coffee was mild but tasty. Since there were no cold brew options, I selected a medium-sized Space Station Brew (medium roast) with 3 cane syrup (syrup was $0.20 per pump).

The store was clean, and I would say about 75% of it is dedicated to retail space—shirts, hats, stickers, etc. The associates were friendly, but nothing outstanding. I would come here for a normal cup of coffee whenever I want something that...
