On Friday, July 25, 2025, I visited the Captain D’s location at 1690 Union Avenue in Memphis, TN. I placed an order for two 3-piece fish meals with fries and beans, along with one regular lobster bisque. My total was $30.37. Upon receiving my order from Derrick (as indicated on the receipt), I noticed while driving away that the lobster bisque was served in a noticeably smaller container than usual and was only filled about one-quarter of the way. I promptly returned to the drive-thru and inquired with Derrick whether the portion I received was considered a regular size. He stated that it was and added that the soup comes pre-packaged. I found this explanation to be unreasonable, as I have ordered the lobster bisque multiple times and have never received such a small portion. I then requested a refund. Derrick appeared visibly irritated by this request, closed the drive-thru window abruptly, and called for someone else to assist me. A few minutes later, Teniqua came to the window and asked for my receipt. Approximately five minutes after that, she asked for my debit card. I assumed this was to process the refund since I had paid with the same card. However, instead of refunding just the bisque or offering a credit, she voided the entire order and recharged my card for the full amount. I found this process to be highly unprofessional for two reasons: first, she did not inform me or ask for my consent before recharging my card, which could have resulted in a financial inconvenience; and second, it was unclear why a full void and re-charge was necessary when a partial refund would have sufficed. Overall, I was very disappointed with the level of customer service I received from both Derrick and Teniqua. While the transaction did not result in a financial hardship, the handling of the situation was inconsiderate and poorly managed. It is not just about the charge, but it is about the principle and the lack of professionalism shown throughout the...
Read moreI am recovering from an accident using a walker and barely can walk. I believe Cynthia in the red shirt there she did take care of two people in front of me that had very specific orders that changed a bit of from what they normally serve she accommodated them pretty well and then she's saying me literally been over doing everything I could just to stand there been standing in line for a little while then she told me she'd be there in just a minute I waited seven more minutes she still hadn't come so I went over to the bench and sat down I waited five more minutes and then I got up to leave and as I'm getting to the door she kind of helps me with the door and said sir if he'll come back in and sit down I'll take your order now. And all that time before i sat down she was standing there with her back to me just waiting to get something out of the kitchen for the 2 people in front of me. And going to leave somebody who is barely able to stand in front of the counter for that long. I will never be back. To the owner; I do believe her name was Cynthia had on a red shirt. If you would like to verify the time when this happened look for an order for 64 cents, that was the lady in front of me and she told the kitchen don't bother to make that. I personally would recommend going to 1400 UNION AVENUE. I just had a VERY GREAT MEAL at this place. thank...
Read moreFood and service is good. The batter dipped fish is my favorite. But I really wish you ( & most restaurants) would stop downsizing food while increasing prices. If you're gonna raise costs (which is totally necessary sometimes), at least keep the quality & quantity of the food the same. You guys act as if we don't notice that the size & servings keep getting smaller & smaller. The fish & chicken are getting so thin, that they'll soon look like french fries. The only thing that's staying the same are the huge sodas. Anyway, despite it all, I really enjoy your food...
4/4/2018 Well, the above review has changed for the Union CD's. Ate there twice this week , 4pc fish meal. On 1st visit out of Gr Beans & had to get skimpy fries, fish was not crispy. Thought the reasom was because it was near closing time. 2nd visit today even worse. My poor fish was thinner than my 1st review. When I tried to pick it up, It just flopped down & broke, SAD. I need to remind CD's that there food is VERY EXPENSIVE. We have a lot of fast food choices that are quite a bit cheaper, tastes pretty good & you get a larger quantity. Sorry to say, but if you keep decreasing quality & quantity, it's bye bye to you & hello to them... But I really like CD's & I don't want to have to choose. So snap out of it & please, please your...
