Dixie Queen — Restaurant in Memphis

First time eating here. I have to say it was the worst food and worst service I've ever experienced at a fast food place. From the rude guy who couldn't care less about common courtesy to when he took my money but didn't give change for about ten minutes. All the way until he handed me the food, the change, and the receipt all at the same time with one hand. That went well. I had a BLT from the breakfast menu. This is apparently like a common BLT with fresh lettuce,fresh tomato (one slice), and bacon on bread and I would assume mayo because well, BLT. But, then what they did was they took the sandwich and soaked it in grease until the bread was completely saturated. Then they laid it in a piece of sandwich paper which soaked up the grease and put that into a paper bag, which immediately became saturated with grease. I guess that was why he handed me my change, the receipt, and the food all with one hand. He didn't want to get greasy. So of course I wanted to eat my food and pulled out this wad of greasy mess. I did taste it. I thought maybe I was just missing something about the Southland, but, no, it really was a BLT soaked in grease. It just disintegrated. It was disgusting and then I noticed the bag was dripping grease. Maybe they thought it was funny? Maybe they didn't know how to make one of the most simple sandwiches out there? I will never go there again. Too bad because it is in my new neighborhood. I warn anyone going there to choose something, anything, else. I had to hand wash the grease out of my clothes. (Updated Review) Alright Dixie Queen you earned it! I decided to give you guys a try about 4 months after I wrote my review. And you've been very consistent with the service, my order has never been messed up, and my food is ALWAYS FRESH & PIPING HOT(fish is my go to though). I've had their wings 2-3 times(good the first time) However, I believe you have to let them know not to fry them hard, otherwise, there's no meat. Shakes are awesome... corn dog is good... breakfast was ok... leary about trying anything else. Also I TRULY appreciate you guys staying open 24hours, during this pandemic🙏🏼. Because otherwise, most of us wouldn't have had any where to eat after 10p.m. Too add, there were many nights were you even had your workers outside(chick fila style) taking orders... helping to speed the process. So to those who get frustrated with the long lines, you get what you pay for HOT FRESH FOOD. Whereas, some where else these days with a long line, your main meal might be COLD and your sides ROOM TEMP/Just plainCold period... to each is on. Once again, thank you Dixie Queen team(management) and keep it going!... from 2 to 5 stars

(Review from a year ago 2019) These reviews are terrible for this restaurant to have just opened. I was excited to have another new restaurant on this side of town where I work. However, I don't think plan on wasting my time or money, until somebody get this place together! Also being that I've only eaten at Dixie Queen one time, in the course of 15 years. There's a strong possibility that it'll be another 15 plus...

It was a fifteen minute wait after the emp. Answered.Came back two more times to ask to wait.I ordered 1/2 hot wings & 1/2 lemon pepper wings. On the menu marquee side order grilled onions were free. I asked if they were in fact free.She said let me check. Then she said drive around. She asked for the money.I paid. In the bag was chopped onions in a dressing container and charged $ .55.i asked her why is it in this. A side order means like French fries not dressing size. She said it's a topping and not free. I stated the marquee says side item and free. She said,I don't have anything to...then she cut it off and said the board is old. Half the stuff on there isn't the right description or price. I asked why am i paying this for a less than 1/2 of a dressing cup. She said that is how it is.Closed the window with an attitude and I waited another 6 minutes for my food. Everything I have ordered so far has been right description and size until now. I drove away disappointed to find my wings added to it. The lemon pepper wings had alot of pepper no lemon flavor and no salt....fried very hard. I thought the delay after you order was because they were re-heating and added the flavor. I think I need to stick to the night crew. They are personable,respectful,fast delivery and attentive. That day was not a food...
