Pros: 3 outdoor patios where you can eat. One very small one out front with about 4 tables very close together. You can hear everyone else's conversations. A bigger patio is out back with more tables and more room in between tables. There is also a 3rd patio that is actually covered and, of course, they have indoor seating. The back patio is cozy at night with some nice ambient lighting at each table. Drinks are good. I had the Easy Tiger and the Mondo. My favorite was the Easy Tiger, it has Thai tea and liquor, very good! The mondo was also delicious. My spouse loved the charcuterie board.
Cons: Service was very slow for a Tuesday evening. We arrived at 630 and waited 30 minutes for a table. When we finally sat down, we ordered our appetizer. Waiter took a while to come back out and take our order, when he took our dinner order we also ordered another drink a piece. Took a while for my drink to arrive and my spouse's Old Fashioned never arrived. Waiter came back around a little bit after our food was delivered, we asked for salt and pepper and reminded him about the old fashioned and he said he would bring them but never did. I finally just got up and got the shakers from the table across from us. There was another table of 3 women near us who had a different waiter and they were also missing important items, like silverware. One of them finally got up and had to rummage through the roll-cart with water and glasses until she found something suitable. We were done with our meal when he finally came back around. We canceled the old fashioned because at that point we were done eating and needed the check. We had to ask for the check and even that was brought out late. we were not charged for the old fashioned that never was brought out. He must've had way more tables inside because we were pretty much forgotten out there after our food came out.
The duck confit was prepared well, the duck was not dry or over-cooked but i didn't think it was very seasoned. I didn't like the spaetzle but i just don't like German food, period. The confit did have a nice medley of herbs to accompany the dish. The branzino was also prepared well but i thought it was plain and not very seasoned. It came with gremolata and the shaved onions with herbs and lemon was very, very good! All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience but the service was lacking. I would go back for the drinks and to try...

I've been to Ecco four times (including today) total since 2021. It's been a 50% success ratio on flavor and service. Whether they were understaffed OR the food was just bland needing flavor (salt). The two times that Ecco was good, it was really great!
Today was a complete fail and I think will be my last time going to Ecco. I came in for the Hawaiian Ribeye that was advertised on their IG. It looked immaculate, I was blown away. I come in to order it, waiter told me there may only be one left. She found out it was and it was mine.
So the ribeye comes out with the butter on top. Looks GOOD. I saved room and didn't eat lunch with the expectation of being blown away. I ignored the fact that the ribeye was somewhat flat. Cut into it and it is RAW. I always eat medium rare, it's the only way to eat a steak! This was RAW.
The Brussel sprouts were the best thing on the plate! Actually really good. The potatoes were devoid of flavor, I couldn't even taste the parm. No salt at all. The ribeye was a pretty rubbish cut. I can go to Sam's and purchase two pack of thick, fat ribeyes for $36 dollars or a Wagyu Strip from Kroger for $30. $42 for a cut that I probably could get at Chili's, the pricing could have been better for a thin ribeye.
I don't ask for comps on meals. The server was great, I tipped her 25% for being so kind. I ate the food they brought back out reheated just because I was hungry. It sucks that management didn't even come out AT ALL to apologize for this awful blip. I think some Memphis restaurants are comfortable because they've been here for a while. The people who come to eat food are looking for quality eats. I'm not asking for Michelin star, I've had plenty of that. Just give us the quality food AND service we know that Memphis food can provide. It's crazy to me because Tonica has been spot-on every time, while the main franchise continues to disappoint. This isn't the type of attention to detail I'd expect from a family-operated local restaurant that has been open as long as them. Hopefully, my review and picture will...
Read moreOur experience did not match the reviews. We were very disappointed. There are four of us who dine out every Friday evening and sometimes on Saturday. We had talked about going to Ecco because it appeared to be a restaurant we would enjoy, and the reviews were great. We went Saturday Feb. 29, 2020 at 6 pm. We were offered a high top table in the main dining room, we declined. We were then escorted to the dining room building in the back. This was not a problem. Unfortunately there was a large group in the room and they were loud, but it was not the restaurants fault and decided to stay. The waitress quickly came, poured room temperature water into our glasses, told us the special, and recommended the crab claws for an appetizer. She seemed harried and disengaged. I like room temperature water, everyone else felt it should have been chilled, at the very least. I drank all my water thru the course of the meal and was never offered more. We ordered a bottle of wine and the crab claws. The crab claws must have been soaking in oil for quite some time as they were saturated with oil and mushy. I ordered the Branzino filet, it was salty, one filet was skin side up, the rice was good, and it was served in a chipped bowl. My partner had Seared Salmon. she enjoyed her meal, the asparagus was very good, her only complaint was the bowl it was served in was also chipped and cracked. Friend A had the special, snapper, also served skin side up, it was a cheap cut of snapper, also served in a chipped bowl. Friend B, has the most discerning palate, she ordered the tenderloin and was only able to eat a few bites. She said the navy beans tasted like they came straight out of a can, the tenderloin was tough, the overall presentation was poor, and again broken dishware. We ate what we could and quickly left, as the noise had reached fever pitch, our nerves were jangled from the door to the room slamming shut and the floor bouncing whenever someone walks thru. We had a digestif, coffee and dessert at Strano where we enjoyed an experienced waiter, and a good end to...
