Very liberally politically charged atmosphere. If your views are not liberal you feel very uncomfortable in said atmosphere, while most liberals still feel uncomfortable. Employees feel unwanted, uncared for, and excluded based on views and how they are treated, it is very noticeable. They also do not like when cooks come out and conversate with customers. I have witnessed this first hand several times with how they have treated customers who build a working relationship with the cooks, and they make their coffees wrong and or lattes wrong purposesly. James is an arrogant, loud mouth who bullies customers, and is a very divisive employee who only serves and takes care of "His important " customers. He is contradictory and derogatory employee speaking down or against others while not knowing his own job. Talks loudly and rudely about customers who go to him wanting a refund, and or when their order is messed up. He's chucked money at customers who had gone to him to have their order refunded, and also rudely walked up on customers and getting to close while laughing in their face. Lyndsay Slusher ( the GM) sits in the corner booth on her laptop or phone everytime I come in while also not helping train or direct the staff. Then getting on to said staff for incorrect product. She has no sense of cleanliness about the restaurant or customer etiquette. She let's Employees talk, discriminate and/or foul/bad mouth anyone they deem unexcetable to be in their presence. She also shares very personal information about Employees to other employees and customers. Kids from the University of Memphis who (were brought in by other employees) have said they will not return and will spread the word to other students not to visit based on her and other employees actions towards them. Khalum the under 21 cook and KD the "kitchen manager" are the two best cooks they have there and deserve to treated as such. Amelia is one of the best customer representatives for a company that I have met and deserves a manager position in said company because she is warm, inviting, and very customer oriented. The kitchen is absolutely disgusting, things are not properly stored. Not to mention food is still being served out of date. They have roaches in the kitchen also. They're always sitting down, on their phones, playing video games (Ds, game boys, laptops) when customers come in or been in the store waiting to be serviced. I have asked several times for corprate/HR phone numbers and emails to let them know how their store and employees are treating customers and have been denied several times. Portion cups have garbage all over them and are being used to serve customers condiments and food. Employees have come out to ask information and guidance and ignored while asking then told they were making things wrong or doing things wrong by "Management". Food is constantly over cooked, stale, can clearly taste it's old and always get made to feel uncomfortable and unappreciated about giving them service. I've given them more than enough chances and I've had enough. Employees and customers deserve to be treated better. Employees need to be held accountable for their wrong doings, how they treat other employees and customers and work on their customer service. Food is over priced and food menus are not something most people...
Read moreThis was my first time trying French Truck Coffee and I was incredibly disappointed. My friend and I came in today hoping to study and have some breakfast. I ordered the BLT Pimento sandwich and the Chocolate Chocolate chip muffin. The muffin itself was incredibly stale and hard, while the sandwich was honestly just not good. A small note is that I am autistic. Food textures are a big trigger for and that muffin was essentially inedible. Also, my friend ordered herself a blueberry muffin and breakfast biscuit. She had the same issue with her muffin and her sandwich was almost impossible to eat with how salty it was. I was not angry or upset at all by this, but I did want a refund. I went up to the front counter to ask if that was a possibility. I, myself, work in the food customer service industry, so I understand that customers can be difficult when asking for refunds sometimes. I didn’t want to cause any stress, so I politely told the main man working my problems with the food. I emphasized that I wasn’t angry/upset and that I understand if a refund isn’t possible because I had taken bites of the food. The man hesitantly agreed and I was extremly thankful, telling him ‘thank you’ multiple times. I even apologize because I paid in cash, and I know cash refunds are a little bit more work. I went back to table and when the man was finished processing my return, he came up my behind me, very abruptly set my money down and walked away without saying a word. I still said thank you. When he returned behind the counter, he very loudly started to complain about me to his coworkers. We were not sitting near the bar, but my friend and I very clearly heard him talking. He said “I Just don’t understand the logic of ordering a chocolate muffin and not liking it, and then saying you don’t like it.”, along with other muffled comments that we couldn’t clearly make out, but being very conceding. After hearing these comments, we decided to leave as the environment didn’t feel comfortable or safe anymore. My friend went up to the counter to ask for to-go containers for her food. When she went up, the man who had been making all those comments rolled his eyes very obviously, and dramatically, then went to to the back. This experience was terrible. I felt unwelcomed and attacked. My friend and I will not be coming back. As stated, we both have worked in customer service so we understand the stress of jobs like this; however, this was...
Read moreI’ve been to French Truck several times. The first few times were amazing which is why I brought my friend there today. Today was not only bad, but disrespectful. When we walked in, a man was behind the bar talking about how to “keep bi*ches from bringing in their dogs.” My friend and I work in the service industry so we understand being annoyed and venting behind the bar, so we honestly thought that was funny. We order and all that, but when we get our food, it’s really bad. My biscuit is salty beyond words, her chocolate muffin is fully stale, and her sandwich is plain gross. Braver than I, she goes back up to the bar and apologizes but says the food is really bad and asks for a refund from the previously mentioned grumpy guy. I want to stress that she was being very kind and thanking him every step of the way, and he reluctantly does give her the refund. After he was back behind the bar, he very loudly said “I just don’t get the logic of ordering a chocolate muffin and then saying you don’t like it” as if it’s her fault for not liking a STALE muffin. We went in today hoping to grab a nice spot to study at for the day, but we no longer felt comfortable in such a hostile environment. I had to get a to-go box (which was almost met with an sigh and an eye roll) and get us out of there ASAP. We understand that customer service can be annoying, but trash talking us where we can...
