Gladys' Diner — Restaurant in Memphis

We got there no one else was in the food area, the employees were all standing together talking. After about 10 minutes of waiting and two excuse me laters someone finally acknowledged my group. Two of us got pizza, two of us ordered hotdogs and a basket of fries. By this time more people had showed up. As we are waiting for our fries for 15 minutes, they finally started passing fries out to all people waiting and i was rudely told because we got a basket we had to wait for the next batch. When the next batch came they filled up the individual side and then threw it into the basket and said that's it. So we got stuck paying for a basket even though it was only a side. My moms bun was so hard she couldn't eat it and it wouldn't even break on the table. They would not replace it. The pizza was nasty. This was a horrible experience and i feel gladys would be horribly disappointed in how this restaurant...

....This could have been a great experience. However, while eating and talking, we looked down to notice a black roach moving his legs and looking back at us! It was at the table that was made out of a Cadillac. When calling this to management's attention, she argued saying it was a "water bug"....we refuted that explanation and Google lensed the bug right in front of her to which revealed it WAS a 🪳 cockroach! No apology from staff, only an attitude and dismissal.

The staff behind the kitchen area were inattentive and rude. Very dismissive and acted entitled and as if we were bothering them. ....do better, seriously. The food was excellent but now im wondering if more "Water bugs" were part of the food prep process 🤢

The seat upholstery is torn and the restaurant looks neglected. Lisa Marie never would have tolerated this. Very sad. Save your money and eat...

The staff here was so rude (minus the ladies at the check out) and at 12:30 p.m. on a Sunday there was barely any food prepped and when we asked if they were making more of something, a pepperoni pizza, we were told no. There were two partial old dry other pizzas but no cheese or pepperoni. You would think they could fire one up at $8 a slice. There were no burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches available and when we asked for one to be made it took someone 10 minutes to find a patty to make it. The servers talked to no one asking what we wanted and we just stood there a solid 5 minutes until someone finally noticed. The food was only ok, what we were able to get, and we are disappointed in the service and attitude of staff in this...
