My daughter, son-in.-law and I went to lunch today. When we walked in, there was no one to greet us. When someone finally came to the front, he instructed us to sit anywhere. Okayyyy. We sit down to the booth and wait for someone to take our order. We wait for several minutes and finally the same person comes to our table and nonchalantly asks for our drink order. I say finally because the restaurant was literally empty. Anyway, my daughter and I told him water with lemon. I emphasize please bring the lemons because I don’t drink water without lemon. And then I ordered a frozen peach margarita. Once again we wait. He comes back with our drinks with no lemons. We tell him to please bring us the lemons and he walks off. The alcoholic drinks were in plastic cups, so we assumed we could take them with us if we didn’t finish them. Cool. Anyway, he came back with three lemon wedges and we gave him our food orders. I ordered the spinach quesadilla with chicken. My daughter and son-in-law made their orders. We waited once again for what seemed like for awhile for what we ordered. Our food finally came and it was good, I must admit. But the waiter never came to check on us not one time. We had to flag him down to tell him we are ready for the check. We told him I was on the check by myself and my daughter and son-in-law are together. I get my check and I was appalled! The check came to $28 and some change. I NEVER paid that much for this restaurant including a drink. And the restaurant had the nerve to put the tip on my check! He did nothing to deserve a tip but I was going to tip him anyway out my own pocket and descretion. The waiter’s attitude was very nonchalant and it was like he really didn’t want to be there. He never came to check on us and my meal was at least $10 more than what I would have paid. I will never go back to Happy...
Read moreThis is not a place to go if you want a good dining experience with your kids or family. This place is more of a hang out spot with loud music and a bunch of teenagers taking orders with no type of personable customer service. They run around playing with each other and rushing you through your order. Yesterday I ordered veggie nachos with extra mushrooms and peppers; the worst ever! Some of the nachos were stale, there was too much melted cheese to where the rest of the dish was way too soggy to enjoy, and I didn't hardly receive any mushrooms or peppers, just a bunch of cheap iceberg lettuce. I ordered a drink which was okay but didn't want it because the meal was too unbearable to eat. I placed my drink and food to the side and left and they harassed me to pay for something that I didn't even eat or drink. I was with my 4 month old baby and I had so many people crowding me and yelling at me which made me so uncomfortable that I just paid for something I didn't even want. The manager snatched the money out of my hand, cursed me out and didn't even agree to make my dish over. I had to go back to the table and show that the food was untouched and he told me I had leave and take the food home if he made it over. I can't believe they were going to just take my money without making the dish over. I bet if I had a man with me that I wouldn't have been disrespected like that but because I'm a black, single, mother I was treated very harsh that I even broke out in tears. I will NEVER visit this place again!!! I didn't even eat the food, I just gave it to a homeless man. Very disappointing. I guess since people mostly go there to drink and hang out, and because of the type of crowd they get that they don't put much effort into their food preparation or...
Read moreI was verbally attacked on January 4th by the manager around 8:30 pm when he approached my table and asked why I wanted to substitute a meal that I did not touch for the second time. I told him that he first meal was not as described as the waitress claimed I would receive a hot, “deep fried” dessert. I was given a cold dessert inside and out. Then I asked the waitress could I get a chicken enchilada instead and she told me she had to ask her manager. She ended up bringing out a cheese enchilada. I was about to eat the meal as I didn’t want to cause any disruption in service but my friend insisted that she talk to the waitress in Spanish because she thought that maybe she didn’t understand me clearly. After I explained this in detail to the manager, he scolded me and said if I could read, then I would not have ordered the wrong thing in the first place and that I’m wasting him time and money. I immediately told him how unprofessional he was and how disrespectful his tone was. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars at this establishment throughout Memphis for years with no issues. He told me that I could either pay for both meals or I won’t eat anything at all. I told him if he apologizes, I would gladly pay for ALL 3 meals and leave it at that. He proceeds to snatch my untouched meal away and says “you won’t eat anything at all how about that” all while other employees are peeping around the corner laughing at me. I hope there are cameras around the establishment that will show his disrespect play throughout. I’ve been emotionally shaken up since this entire ordeal. I don’t understand how a mistake made on the waitresses end, left me with being verbally attacked and scolded. I tried to get over this within a day but it has truly...
