I’ve been coming to East End Grille (Winchester Rd.) for quite some time, and unfortunately, I’ve noticed a steady decline in both food and drink quality. What used to be fresh and flavorful now feels lackluster and inconsistent. The menu hasn’t changed too much, but the taste and presentation certainly have— and not for the better. The drinks, once a highlight of the experience, seem watered down and lack the balance or creativity they once had. Whether it’s cocktails or beer, it’s clear something has changed behind the bar, and it’s not for the better. When I voiced my concerns to my server, Sherri, she immediately informed me that she could take anything off because I’d eaten some of it. How else would I know how bad it was if I didn’t. But I informed her that I was insult and offended by the fact that she ASSUMED I wanted her to give me something for free. I never asked her to remove anything from my bill (although, it would have been a nice gesture of customer appreciation). I informed her that I can always afford my food, if I’m dining out. I even paid the ridiculous ‘service fee’ once the ‘manager’ could not explain what it was for. LAUGHABLE! On top of that, the mandatory service charge is disappointing, especially when the service and food or drinks doesn’t always match the cost. While I understand the need to ensure fair wages, I would expect higher quality food, drinks, and service for the price being charged. The mandatory 18% fee (tip in disguise) just feels like an extra burden, especially when the overall experience has deteriorated. And adding insult to injury, there’s a suggestion of additional tipping…STARTING at 18% again. I hope they turn things around, but for now, it’s hard to justify coming back with so many better options nearby.

My first time here. I ordered red beans and rice, which was more like beans and cornbread which a side of rice if that makes sense, but either way it was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. The beans were seasoned to perfection, a little spicy, but that’s how I like it. The two slivers of charred sausage were a nice addition, but these beans were so good, they didn’t even need added protein. A big portion, for $16 and change. The hunk of cornbread was huge, and just sweet enough. I ordered an extra piece but the one would’ve been fine. Now I wanna try other things from the menu! I’d already dug in before I took the photo, but this was totally 10/10 meal.

Bartender/manager cough openly at the bar to make a joke of spreading Covid19, since I stated I didn't want to walk to the area where ppl were sitting at bar without mask and no social distancing. This was horrible and I'll thought. The female waitress came to see what tool place. She asked for my information for the general manager, if I dont hear from that entity, let it go on record as proof the so called manager is not enforcing social distancing, with as high a rate that TN has for Covid19...this is no joking matter. It would be a good idea for the city to shut this bar/restaurant down, or fine them for this I'll behavior and reckless care of life.

We've been in Memphis for 13 years and this place is right around the corner from our house. I took my wife for date night on Friday 07/29/16 around 7:30. There were not a lot of people since it was raining hard outside. We walked in and stood for a few minutes and someone finally came by and said we could sit wherever we liked. Suggestion: Place a sign at the door that says "Seat Yourself."

We found a table by the bar for 2. The table was very small. Our server (guy with a cap) came over and asked us for our drinks. He was very dry and not friendly at all. He didn't tell us his name and just asked for drinks. We got our drinks pretty fast but we didn't see the server for a while after that. We were ready to order but we couldn't find this guy. It appeared he was the only server. He finally came back and got our order. We ordered chips and dips for an appetizer and we both ordered the catfish baskets with fries. It took at least 10 -15 minutes for the appetizer to finally arrive. The young man that delivered the appetizer to the table was very nice and friendly. He asked if we needed anything and he was so kind. The appetizer was good. Fresh chips and hot white cheese dip. Nice! Before we could get half way thru the chips and dip, our fish baskets arrived. The tables are so small we had no where to place our food. The young man that brought our food was again so nice that he removed the centerpiece from the table so that we could have room for our entrees. It would be nice to get your appetizer out sooner so that you can enjoy it before bringing out the entree. The fish basket was not good. The fish was fried way too hard and it was too crunchy. There appear to be some other good items on the menu. Take my advice, do not get the fish basket. The server finally came by and asked us how we were doing and we said that we were doing good. We didn't complain. The bartender was friendly. We sat next to the bar and he greeted his patrons with a smile and actually provided good service. There are several TV's also. Overall, this is not somewhere that we will go back to. There are too many other good restaurants in the area to settle for this one. The server acted like he did not want to be there on a Friday night. The only bright spot was the young man that delivered our food. My wife was disappointed but I tried to do something different with a different place. I hope it's...

Upon arriving I had high hopes for the place I had always heard this was a great hangout for adults . Oh was I in for a rude awakening. On the day of my visit my husband and I walked into the business in the early afternoon as we opened the door no one waited on us so we approached the bar hoping to get service. As we stood by the bar for what seemed forever the ppl talking amongst themselves one been the owner and another being a waitress finally look over at us whilst still sitting down and said what can we do for you. How about serve us maybe ??? I had to then ask for a menu and a table , she did not offer that serve. After ordering our food and drinks I asked could I order my drink for the price during happy hour because it was 4 min pass 4. She said no . Ok the drink wasn't what I ordered as if it had no alcohol in it at all. So she said I had to pay for it. Because I ordered it anything you order you HAVE TO PAY FOR IT EVEN YOU DOT EAT OR LIKE IT. THE OWNER THEN CAME OUT and showed me that it was on the bottom of the menu. After going back and forth with him ;instead of saying that the customer is right and satisfying the customer he told me that he would call the [POLICE] on me im not a criminal go ahead... I'll call for you. and when I tried to pay him he refused to take my money so I left and my husband went back into the restaurant to pay and he refused the money again so the waitress had to come out and get the money and he still insisted on calling the police then one of the male waitresses came out wanting to have a confrontation when it had nothing to do with him this place is a disgrace the owner is racist and in no way should you have to pay for something you do not eat or drink disgusting business disgusting owner should be closed down...
