My two daughters and I decided to visit Comales today. Keep in mind this is not my first time visiting. A few times prior I had a lovely experience . This time an around it wasn’t so great . In fact I decided to leave after we were seated to tar it business else where. How ? Our waiter proceeded to seat us in the way to our destination I asked her if it was ok if we could could a booth. At that moment her mood switched . It went from calm to slamming the table at the requested booth. Afterwards , she sped off immediately without asking if we needed anything . In this case I did. I needed a high highchair for my 2 year old. As I wa calling her as she was walking away she proceeded to ignore me and continued on her journey back to her destination. I followed her and I asked a male worker if she was ok and explained what happened . It seemed as though he wasn’t surprised from the report that was given . FYI once she made it back to the front where you greet and seat the guest the same male worker I spoke with was standing there. As soon as the female worker made it to the male worker she whispered something in his ear and proceeded to the cash register..I asked if she would be greeting us and he said no I replied thank god. But I decided to leave because if you’re that bold to mistreat your customer just imagine the wide range of possibilities that could take place when it actually comes to serving your guest their food… I have enough respect for myself to take my business else where. I also noticed another bad review that was originally posted by a persons of color. I’m just trying to see do your employees only treat certain groups of people this way if so I think this is definitely something that needs to be broadcasted to the public. Yup today is my last...
Read moreI'd always heard good things about this place but, despite having lived less than a block away for a couple of years -- and I was also a regular customer right next door at BAM Thrift -- I'd never even set foot in Los Comales until this past Saturday when my mother-in-law wanted to take me and the Mr to lunch, but he was working, so she and I went to grab a midafternoon carryout order we could enjoy together at home after his shift. MIL opted for a taco salad, I got mixed fajitas to share with him and, on a whim, I added a last-minute Cheesecake Burrito for dessert.
Prices were surprisingly reasonable and our order did not take long at all to arrive at the pickup counter. The staff was pleasant and cheerfully accommodated our request for separate bags. When we finally got to eat after the Mr came home from work, our fajitas were very tasty despite the extra side of rice and beans having just a bit too much salt, and I must say I've definitely found my new favorite dessert in their "Cheesecake Burrito" with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. I'll be back to dine in and explore more of the menu very very soon! Yum!
MUCHOS GRACIAS,...
Read moreFirst of all, let me say that I Loooooove Mexican food. I have experience from authentic to not so authentic. A friend of mine asked me to go with her to dinner tonight. I was excited because I love frozen margaritas and chicken Chimichanga with rice or beans and white cheese drizzled over it. Mmmmm!! Well, I didn't get that dream; instead I got a lot of curled up sauteed chicken stuffed tightly in a greasy fried burrito wrap with no onions no flavor or bell peppers.🙄🙄 Margarita was ok but not really frozen like others I've had at other restaurants. I ate a little of it because I was hungry. Also, Fabulosa hits your nose so hard soon as you walk in the door!!! I am all for cleanliness, but I don't want to smell strong scented cleaning products while I'm eating. To be fair, I cannot say it is like that all the time maybe there was something that needed immediate attention on tonight. I do not know. Terrible. On the flip side, the atmosphere is very diversed and pleasant to be in. However, I won't be back because I really did not care for the food, waiter or drink. Again this is my experience and opinion. Thanks...
