Sigh,...'Slice of Soul'. Where to begin? Well, first of all, when placing a call-in order an hour in advance, one would assume that upon arrival the process should run pretty smooth; (1)Get food, (2)pay for food, (3)leave. Yeah,... that didn't happen-at all.
We were literally ignored as unengaged staff milled about the place with no discernible purpose or destination; NONE acknowledging my party, a woman who had been waiting even longer than us, and a poor Uber-Eats driver who should have cancelled that order and resumed money-making(time is money).
Turns out, the pizza we ordered over an hour ago hadn't even been made!!! The female co-owner seemed less than empathetic about our wait as she frantically paced about looking for misplaced order-tickets. She didn't offer a discount or complimentary drinks or complimentary anything for the wait,...that is, until an hour and a half after the initial call-in, they finally bring the pizza out.
I say to her, "So, you're charging us full-price?" She replies, "Yeah,...well I'll take two dollars off." And she was slick pissed-off about those two funky-a**ed dollars!!! A classier joint would have apologized for the exorbitant wait-time and simply comped the food to retain customers(believe me, it's worth the comp).
After realizing her pettiness and lack of customer care, she goes and grabs two cups of lemonade and hands them to us. I first refused it, but then took it to be courteous.
After her nice-nasty attitude, I didn't dare drink that drink. But my brother's a different beast all together so he gladly drank both. With that said,... anybody can have an off night. But judging by all of the other reviews saying similar things I can't help but believe this is 'Slice of Soul's M.O.

Read moreI gave this place 3 separate visits before writing this review. My first experience was during Memphis black restaurant week. I had a bad experience with the owner and felt that he was completely rude. Despite they, and giving him the benefit of the doubt that he may be having a bad day, I decided to patron again for lunch a few weeks ago. Walked in at lunch only to be told there was no pizza sauce and it would be a 30 minute wait. Wait!! What? No pizza sauce at a pizza place. Ok...And I guess I learn slow, so today I ordered on the slice app. Cheese pizza $12 and cheese and bacon fries (NO bacon which was specifically requested on my order). So when I get my order my fries are covered with bacon. The owner sends back the order to be remade. Initially, there was cheddar cheese (as on the menu description). When the fries were returned, there was a scarce amount of what appeared to be mozzarella cheese on the fries. I for sure was not going to send the fries back AGAIN. I am on my lunch break which is why I ordered ahead. I received a pizza box for a large size pizza only to discover a very small flat bed pizza. I can honestly say I tried to patron this business and keep my money in my community. Unfortunately, I will NEVER patron this spot again and wouldn't recommend...
Read moreI absolutely loved the atmosphere in this establishment! It's black owned but there was a slightly mixed crowd when I first got there around 8pm. There was a good sized crowd for it to be a Saturday night and there was a live DJ. My food was delicious! I got the Al Green $7 pizza that was basically a veggie pizza, the seasoned fries (I forgot the name of them), and sweet tea. My husband got a cheese pizza, 3-wings, and drink combo. According to him the pizza taste like a Tony's pizza but the honey gold wings were good. People were up dancing and having a good time. The service was somewhat slow but everyone was super nice and sweet. My only complaints were that the music was so loud that you couldn't have a decent conversation with someone at the same table without taking in their ear. The other complaint is that my husband's pizza came out over 10 minutes after the rest of our food. For these reasons, I took off one star for the review. Other than those things, I had a great experience and I will be back. I wish I would have taken pictures of the food and decor to add to this review. Go support a small business. Go support a positive...
