New China — Restaurant in Memphis

I'm probably as close to a Chinese food gourmet as you'll find in Memphis. I've been eating Chinese food and cooking it at home for 60+ plus years. I've even been to the "Middle Kingdom" myself, so I know the difference between a mediocre take-out joint and a really good restaurant. This spot is unassuming, in a run-down strip-mall, but my early reaction having been there just a couple times, is these people know what they're doing. Each time has been delicious. ...

I've had my fair share of bad Chinese food but this was by far the absolute most disgusting thing I've ever tried to eat. The fried rice was dried out and overcooked, the spare ribs were tough and fatty and the general chicken was NOT general chicken. The egg rolls had a distinct metallic taste and were completely inedible, we threw 98% of our order in the garbage and my entire family felt ill after consuming what little we did eat. Will NOT EVER get food...

Service has gotten bad. When I went in the lady was on her ear piece obviously on a personal call. She walked away for 10 minutes & when she came back to the register she continued the conversation and never said may I help you. Once I got my food the rolls were greasy & there was no gravy in the dish. It wasn’t the worse I have had but it definitely has gone down.The tables were also greasy which makes me think the kitchen...
