Great food, horrible experience. One of the personnel working during the afternoon, a short black girl with glasses and a cornrow, gave me the worst fast food ordering experience ever in my life.
I have been a regular at Popeyes for years, but I won't be returning to this location again because of the horrendous experience I got. So it goes:
I ordered 5 piece spicy tenders combo using the mobile app. When I got there, another girl working the counter told me that they were out of spicy tenders. Now, the main girl I talked about in the beginning who was packing stuff cuts her off and says "yes we have spicy tenders, I just put them in the box." I get the order, and decide to check it. Upon checking, I see that those are original tenders, and I give it back to them saying that those are originals. Instead of being apologetic about the mistake, the cornrow girl says, "do you wanna wait 15 minutes?" I say yes.
I wait for about 15-20 minutes and then the cornrow girl gives me the tenders, this time spicy. I ask her, can I get some extra blackened ranch. She says, 55 cents. I get it, you have to pay for extra sauce. I always do. But this time, you lied to me about my order, made me wait 15 minutes, and yet you have the gall to ask for money as if I asked for a big meal for free? Whenever I go to let's say Panera, they give a freebie if they make anyone wait for longer than 10 minutes. This wasn't even a cookie. This was a packet of sauce to cry out loud. When I say you made me wait, the other girl and her say you would have still had to wait (which I get, but then why did you give me the wrong order in the first place by lying?) Then I say, alright but you gave me loads of ketchup packets and honey packets which I didn't ask for, and both the girls say "it comes with it" while the cornrow girl makes faces while saying "yeah it does". No it doesn't. I've been ordering Popeyes for years and nowhere does it say that, even on their app where it mentions what each meal comes with.
I say fine thank you and leave. When I get in the car, I check the tenders to make sure they're correct. And I count 4 tenders and a small little strip (what Popeyes has been selling as the new Chicken Dippers). I take it back, tell her you gave me 4 tenders, I open the box and show her. She counts 5. Then I lift the little strip and ask her, "you count this as a tender?" She smiles because she knows she messed up, there was another guy behind the counter who looked at it and smiled. Then she take the strip out of my hand and throws it in the bin to hide her mistake, and tells the other girl to give me a 5th tender, while saying, "I gave him 5 but give him another one."
I say thank you and leave, nodding my head in disbelief over what I had to experience. While leaving, I hear her say, "he's been giving me a hard time." Sure buddy, if you didn't do your work well and did mess up not once, but twice, lie about giving me the correct order when it was wrong, refuse to give me a packet of sauce for the inconvenience caused, and then throw the wrong order to hide your incompetence, all for an order I paid for already, I would give you a hard time, especially when you're unapologetic about the entire situation.
I would suggest that the concerned managers look into this, this happened on 9th August, 2025 around 1:00 pm. The cornrow girl needs some serious training about how to treat customers. The other girl not so much, but still not great at handling orders too. If this keeps happening, you'll lose long time...
Read moreA Popeye's store is not just the classic chicken sandwich. They get one star for freshly made chicken sandwiches. Which we were first told they didn't have any and to wait while the order taker checked to see if they had any more available
So we waited and waited and waited in an already long line of cars. It took over 15 minutes just to get to the window to place the order. And the order taker had us waiting to hear back from him if there was any chicken sandwiches. I am like "Hello, are there any chicken sandwiches?", and the order taker, " oh, yes we had some chicken sandwiches. They just drop them." Why were you so slow to communicate. So here the point. If your store closes later then the other restaurants in your area and you see a long line of cars wrapped around your store in your lot. Then drop some chicken to accommodate your customers. Poor shift management.
The quality of the food was not acceptable. I have worked in the fast food industry. I understand the job and the business. It is you who represents the store when you take orders. It is you who allows the food to leave the store that says this is a poor, good or great store to come to buy your food. No matter what time of day a customer comes to the store the food needs to be on point and the service needs to be great. At this store last night the food was dried out and the service was rude and poor. As the order taker keep repeating, "Is that all Ma'am?" No, I told you when I came up to the window. "I have a large order." So have some patience and take the order.
The chicken strips was mostly hard dried skin with no meat. The popcorn shrimp the same as the the chicken strips, dried batter no shrimp. It was two hours before closing. So where is the food. They were out of a lot of items. Poor communication skills of the order takers. And with a larger family it takes time to order so yes you need patience to take a longer that normal order. No one wants over cooking dried out food. We spent over $40 for bad quality of food and rude service. Get it...
Read moreWorst service ever!!!!!! This location needs new staff ASAP before the restaurant goes all the way down hill… I haven’t been at this Popayes in months, but one day I come (yesterday morning), my card doesn’t read… she tried multiple times, I offered to give another card and the woman is ignoring me the entire 2 minutes while she is swiping my card multiple times… then finally she let me pay with a different card. I get my $50ish order and leave. As I was already on Germantown rd I notice I’m missing my Mac and cheese. I come back, waste my time (money) and gas (money), explain politely that I’m coming around again because I’m missing my Mac and cheese, only for the person who took my order to say “I put it in your bag, but whatever, you can pull around”. So now you’re accusing me of lying about some Mac and cheese, instead of apologizing for YOUR MISTAKE and correcting my order POLITELY… I stop at the window to explain that he may had put it in someone else’s bag (because that’s what he was saying “I put it in your bag, but whatever” 🙄🥴), but it wasn’t my bag! And he gives me attitude and starts yelling at me at the window… So yeah I’ll never be coming back to this location, and I’m sure I’m not the first nor the last person to experience bad service, but I didn’t know it was THIS bad, geeez. For the person working there who caught attitude over a missing Mac and cheese, they should lose their job in order to take care of their mental situation because there’s no way you’re that angry at a customer and you made a mistake. I tried getting their name, but they wouldn’t open the window. And if that’s what people do (lie to get another Mac and cheese), that would never be me! SMH Sad,...
