Soul Fish Cafe — Restaurant in Memphis

6/29/24 Our entire meal was horrible, my son had the chicken tender plate 3 tenders & fries w/hush puppies. Tenders were very dark & old. Hush puppies were hard, & the fries were re-fried some soggy, some very dark, & some hard. (Awful) the waitress didn't cook it but she knew the food was horrible when she brought it out!!! The second plate was the same on the fries. The catfish was cut in half & so technically you pay 18.99 for 1 & 1/2 piece of fish with hard hush puppies & re-fried soggy fries and the macaroni was the ABSOLUTE WORST. Yall are a total rip off. The third plate was a catfish plate as well. One piece of fish was very dark & the other 2 pieces were fresh and light. Same soggy fries & hard hush puppies. Our waitress hardly ever came over to check on us, we had to keep flagging her down when we needed something & yes we tipped her still. I understand the position of a waitress or waiter. They also should know if they soley work for tips, do your absolute best, it will honestly make a difference. I believe in tipping any where I go. But today SOUL FISH CAFE gets 2 thumbs DOWN! I will not RECOMMEND any to be served like this. Now I'm up @ 3am with a bad stomach ache from your food I feel poisoned!!! NEVER AGAIN City of Memphis customers you've been warned!!!! The Poplar Ave location! We spent $78 for a stomach ACHE!!!...

First let me say we have been eating at and enjoying soulfish for over 3 years unfortunately today's experience was not up to par the Food was Very overcooked And did not taste fresh in particular my wife got the crispy cod sandwich and it was so crispy it was barely edible - it also didn't taste fresh maybe why it was the special . My peacemaker po boy was also very crispy along with my fries which were overcooked however we were so hungry we tried to bear it and eat the food anyways . We also noticed other peoples fish coming out very dark crispy and overcooked so at the end when we were asked how everything was we told the waitress it was a little bit overcooked ,The next thing we know a lady comes over who i assume is the manager and acts as if we're trying to get something for free and started telling us if we didn't like the food we shouldn't Have eaten it, mind you we weren't asking for anything we were just Telling the waitress about it being overcooked in hopes that someone would mention to the cook that he is overcooking the food and it would be corrected, the manager Overreacted she Was very loud and impolite to myself and my wife, Hate to say after 3 years of Being a loyal customer I probably won't be going back again ...I can accept a mistake with the food but the way she acted was...

Restaurant was not clean and grease needed to be changed fish was dark and greasy hush puppies were awful fries didn’t seem to be fresh for the price .Food should have been a lot better.

This was my second time / occasion . I have come to this particular location. This will be my last time coming to this location. My husband came and ordered 2 orders of fish nuggets and wanted to make a meal for both orders. He was told they were appetizers so we purchased them and 1 order of fries and the cost was $40 for 2 orders of fish nuggets and an order of fries. The problem was the fish nuggets were undercooked. When my husband brought them home I began to eat them and quickly realized that they were not cooked properly. I called the restaurant. I made them aware that I lived in Arkansas and she made me aware that I would have to bring them back and they could remake my order. No other compensation. So I feel as though if I was white they would have did better with compensating me and if I told them there was a problem with my order they would’ve did something about it and not insisted that I bring the order back right away to be checked by the staff . Poor customer service I would not advise anyone to patronize this restaurant. Unprofessional.Only concerned about money , proper service doesn’t...
