This has been my favorite, and most frequented store for over 5 years. Last night, very well may have been my last trip to this store; let alone any other Target. I've attempted to reach out about my terrible experience with no luck thus far. I was even hung up on from a representative in Nicaragua who obviously had such a hard time understanding my situation that he simply could not even professionally finish the phone call. I am honestly shocked and disgusted at how 3 employees would treat a customer who needed help. First, I was blatantly ignored. Then when "help" finally came, one employee was so unexpectedly rude; she spoke to me as if I was supposed to know how to handle my issue (a clothing item with no tag attached) at the self checkout. "You're supposed to put the code in." I was confused and said I don't know a code? She proceeded to point at it and try and hand it to me to deal with. I was so caught off guard that she was insisting I should do this myself after she acted like I should have already known what to do. This woman was so rude and unprofessional she walked away in the middle of my sentence. That's when the next tried to "help" by telling me that "mam this isn't my job, I don't do this stuff." What? I'm trying to purchase an item and no one around "does this stuff." You work here, I don't. Clearly, no one is doing anything at all! This probably explains why there was no tag on the clothing in the first place. It wasn't until an unrelated staff member intercepted the situation that I could finish checking out. It seemed as though she had intercepted similar situations before. I have never negatively reviewed a business, as I consider myself an understanding customer in any establishment. I've worked in the service industry for a very long time. I would never be allowed, nor would I allow anyone else to treat our customers this way. Target, you need to reconstruct the training process for your employees. If they don't enjoy their job they mustn't subject customers to it. I did not ask for them to work there to help me, and clearly they were not interested in doing their...
Read moreTerrible customer service and they do not honor the return or price match company policy. Anyone who knows me knows that I love Target, but after today I’m planning to pay off my Red Card and then cancel it. I was given a gift card instead of the return and repurchase I asked for. I was then told by an employee that this was “above her pay grade and she didn’t make enough money for this” as she and the other 2 associates giggled and made faces at each other right in front of me. They continued doing this in front of the manager and I pointed it out and told her I was going to call corporate. She didn’t seem concerned and offered to give me the number. My merchandise was put on a gift card rather than returned to the original form of payment and I was told that “cannot be undone.” This was YOUR mistake. Not mine. The bad attitudes were just the cherry on top. It would be great if someone could fix this since I now have a gift card with no plans to shop at Target ever again- but hey, a nice way to break policy to get me to spend more money rather than return it to my original payment as I requested.
Not that they “need” my business- but I work hard and will spend my money somewhere with nicer people who follow the rules. If they treated me this way, I’m not the only one as I see other recent complaints regarding this guest services desk. Nobody deserves to be talked down to and then ridiculed by employees. I worked in retail for years and had to be nice to the worst of customers. Everyone knows you should wait till they leave to start talking, laughing, or making faces about...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite target but now I’ll pass. I had a “after holiday” incident. I chose pickup realized I needed my item sooner because it was an emergency and since I was passing by I figured let me get this item as it actually pertains to my emergency. I found the item myself and went to guest services. I was told I had to cancel the order which was just one item repurchase. Not understanding since the item is right here and it is paid for. But nevertheless no one could scan my item because they say it’s not ready yet. I asked to speak with a manger. I got a team lead on a walkie talkie instead. Moments prior I was told “She just gone tell you the same thang I said”. The team lead states her general rebuttal. That’s fine but I did ask to speak with a manager though and and again it was an unfortunate emergency situation I think could’ve been handled differently. Now I did cancel the order and repurchased, the cashier just seemed completely nonchalant and uninterested in everything. I was asking how I could apply my savings plus gift card to my purchase. It’s the week of Christmas of course everyone has gift cards around this time. He barely was any help. I just figured out how to get my barcode on my own. I don’t know if it’s the after holiday madness but it doesn’t take much to show some type of compassion and...
