Everything about this place is nice, from the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere, except for the owner's attitude. I will never come back again because of how disrespectful he is toward customers.
I have been loving studying at this coffee shop, mainly because my friends, who work there, always provide me with great service. However, every time I visited, I ended up leaving upset. Though I tried to ignore it, today was my last straw because of his behavior.
One time, while I was asking my friend (who works there) for coffee recommendations, which is literally her job, the owner suddenly interrupted and called her away in the middle of giving me recommendations. Mind you, this has happened twice, and to one of my friends as well. Though, as a paying customer, I was standing there, but he pretended like I was literally not there. Why not leave whatever you want to say to you employee until she is done with her customer? I literally had never experienced such a behavior from an owner at any other coffee shop.
Another time, as one of his employees was handing me my drink, I asked for a simple adjustment, and again, he called her away to serve someone else. I brushed it off, trying not to let it ruin my experience, but it kept happening.
Itâs not just about me. Iâve seen him yell at his employee in front of me, loudly and rudely, without even caring how uncomfortable it made me feel as a customer. That level of disrespect is not just unprofessional; it's humiliating for his staff and the customers watching.
Today I left my stuff to go grab food from my car and eat OUTSIDE with one of his employees (my friend). He proceeded to call her and tell her that I needed to pack my stuff and this was not a "storage unit." I totally understand if this is a policy and absolutely respect it. However, i would have appreciated if he would have asked me respectfully to pack my stuff and not leave it at the store, which is not "a storage unit," which obviously is not lol
not going back again. I'd rather go to a different coffee shop who show their customers some respect.
Update: Since I can't respond to your reply, I want to make it clear: One time, I came in with a 7 Brew drink, but I also ordered a cheesecake and a drink from your shop. I even apologized, saying, âSorry, I wasnât trying to be rude," and explained that I was waiting in line to place my order I just wanted to wait until the line cleared because I had a lot of assignments to work on. And you know I love the drinks there. I always order the Sweet Eye drinks and come all the time to support the shop.
Honestly, it feels like youâre just using that situation as an excuse to cover up the way you disrespect your customers. No matter what a customer does, if you don't know how to show basic respect and explain policies professionally, youâre going to lose a lot of loyal customers. Do not disregard all the disrespect you've shown me and other customers and use that "7 brews and lunches" excuse to cover up...
Read moreIâll leave my review but everyone please feel free to leave the owners review.I know itâs hard to read tone over text however what happened is written maybe not in the way you like. I didnât just add the baby part. I made it sound a bit better after someone made me remember the shop. Correct. The baby day was another day but it needs to be added bc Iâm reviewing the whole experience. It is a business right or youâre only nice to those you want? Btw you literally said you need the mop while you did the move of sweeping with your hand. Please check on that on the cctv. Anyway take it how you want it all the best inshAllah.
Coffee shop is so cute and I love the variety of drinks they have. I also love the location. However, they need to better w their customer service. Some staff members do not help answer questions at all and act clueless. Not to mention the lady was carrying a baby behind the counter and looking at me crazy when Iâm asking her some thing. I invited around 10-15 people for their grand opening which was just a regular afternoon they werenât doing anything special for it anyway and I also go there often. It was so many people there that my drink spilled because there was not enough room to accommodate a large group. We tried our best to make room. Probably should have went outside anyway we cleaned it up pretty good but when I asked them if they could make me another one on a discount , I didnât even ask for a free replacement even though at other coffee shops they replace without hesitation. There was a lot of confusion and they did give me 15% which I paid for my drink and moved on with my life but the whole process was very uncomfortable and unnecessary. They also asked me did I need a mop to clean up the spill which btw we already cleaned up with napkins. Love supporting local but itâs not worth the hassle of unfriendliness from the shop. We come there , invite friends, spend money and move on. It would also be helpful if it was clear about who cleans after we are done. I always cleanup and clean the area but Iâve seen other people leave everything and then the tables are dirty which I also had to clean myself for my guests that I invited. How embarrassing. Probably better to go when no one is there so they can all...
Read moreSweet Eye Coffee is a wonderful experience all around. I ordered the Sweet Eye Latte hot, which is a lovely spiced latte. I'm a big fan of spice drinks and desserts, so it was an easy way to win me over, but I'm also excited to go back and try the date latte (which is also spiced) because I'm a big date fan, too. My wife ordered an iced strawberry macha. She hates everything coffee but absolutely loves matchaâespecially matcha with strawberry or raspberryâand is very picky, so her judgement tells me a lot about the skill of the cafe. She was very pleased and concluded it was better than Starbucksâthat is the most accessible matcha drink for her, so it is her baseline. As for food options, my wife and I shared a slice or rose milk cake. The cake was incredibly moist with a texture profile similar to tiramisu with wonderful floral notesâno literally, there are rose petals on it, just trust me and try it. As for the atmosphere, there were plenty of people working and still numerous tables open. Best yet, unlike some cafes that like to pretend they are great for workâglares at StarbucksâSweet Eye has many tables, including quite a few 2 seat tables that are great for individuals who don't want to take up too much space. There are also a decent number of 4 seat tables for small groups, enough that an individual working alone who needs more space to do their work won't feel guilty for taking a 4 seat table. I have yet to be able to try their brunch and lunch menu, but I eagerly plan to correct that soon. My experience definitely convinced me that I need to make more trips to Sweet Eye, and I am confident that you will also love the experience. Even if you don't live in Cordova, this cafe is worth the drive even if that's all you do.
P.s. Sorry, we meant to take a photo of the rose milk cake, but we ate it before we could open our phones. It's just that good.
Update: I had the Date latte, and it did not disappoint. The date was not so overpowering that it tasted like hot prune juice; instead, it complimented the latte flavor and balanced out in a drink that had me hooked. Will be...
