IHOP — Restaurant in Memphis

We were really disappointed in this IHOP we tried to go to the one on Scyamore View but they weren't letting people in to eat and we had people that had come in from out of town that wanted to go to one so we found the one on Germantown parkway when we walked in there was one family there and they were leaving one girl noticed us and told us our waiter would be right with us 15 minutes later no one had come to the table the store was quiet except for some people in the back you could here laughing and dropping things my sister got tired of waiting and walked to the back and asked if they were closed they said no the waiter said he didn't know we were out there when he came to the table we gave him our food and drink order which he did get right but it took 30 minutes to get our food it was a simple order pancakes a couple had meat and hash browns too when we got our ticket I was surprised that the bill was 62$ that was for a senior breakfast a triple stack of pancakes 2 breakfast that had the meat eggs and hash browns and 3 drinks I think they they should have prices on the menus when he brought the ticket he told us he had to change us for a child meal of bacon and pancake even though we didn't order it in fact it was left on table and got a to go box since I got charged for it the hour we were there 2 more sets of people came in and I watched them wait just as long I don't normally give such a bad review but I have worked in the food service business and this was pitiful this was a Friday nite in Memphis at 11 pm even if it is a slow store they should have enough workers to take care of the...

Service here has been bad in the past but today was just absolutely horrible. Me and my family arrived at around 1pm. It’s Mother’s Day. It wasn’t to crazy in there by the time we got seated. We were seated then had our drink order taken a little while later. It was 30 minutes before our order was taken. By that time there were only 3 maybe 4 families in the restaurant. We ordered at around 130. It was 240 when we got our food finally. And we didn’t get our food until my mother in law decided to ask about our food. I never received a refill on my tea. The atmosphere was horrible with kids yelling. (Not the restaurant fault I know) Every time we had interaction with the waitress she had an attitude with us. Like we were bothering her. We tried to ignore everything and just have a good day.

When it came time to pay my pastor decided to pay for everyone. We put the tip and it was generous for the service we received. But we did tip. When my pastor voiced his concerns about the wait time for food and overall experience the waitress grabbed the tip and slammed it in his hand. Talking down to him and us like we burdened her by being there. We left the tip anyway because we tip regardless of service. We didn’t even blame the experience all on her. But she got very disrespectful with us and extremely rude. Of course I’ll never take my family there again. Each time we go it’s well over $100 spent. It’s ridiculous to allow this from the employees and it’s sad that a spot my family loves has such poor customer service.

My fiancé & I decided that we would take our 2 & 4 year old sons to eat breakfast. We went on Germantown pkwy thinking we would have great service eating in a clean environment but we were wrong we sat down anyway because of me stating that the food might taste great so let’s sit & eat. Walked into a nasty restaurant all the workers where sitting down nobody greeted us we stood there looking around for somebody to seat us. After being seated barely had anyone to make sure or to check to see if our service was going well. We asked for hot syrup with our order as soon as we received COLD syrup I looked to see something was floating in one of the plastic cup containers they provided. Our food looked and taste horrible it wasn’t hot with steam coming off it was room temperatured. We ordered the easiest thing to cook on the menu eggs bacon sausage & pancakes. We moved twice from the left side of the restaurant to the right side and both sides looked horrible. I cleaned my own table & chairs before sitting my babies there with hand sanitizer & baby wipes just so we would have somewhere clean to eat breakfast.
