Mihm's Charcoal Grill — Restaurant in Menasha

The guests were friendly, but the 2 servers needed an attitude check. They are the reason my experience here was so poor. We drove 2 hours up to see a friend who wanted us to try this "amazing" place, n they ruined it with how I was treated. I'm the only one of color out of the 4 adults I went with, n they hardly talked to me or interacted with my husband n son. But they were super friendly with my friends to the point where I asked them if they came here often, but they hadn't since the change in management. I ordered my burger n was waiting to be asked if I wanted fries or cheese curds like she had asked my friends n she didn't even ask me. She just moved on to the next person. I also ordered a strawberry shake. My friend ordered a root beer float, and my husband ordered a chocolate shake. Both came out before me, and when she brought out mine, it was overfilled and messy. It was the lady with short "karen" redish hair and kinda plump. And the other lady had darker hair and glasses. Completely unprofessional. They didn't even bring out our food they made one of the cooks bring the food out. Won't be going back, but I really hope the owner sees this and makes some changes. It shouldn't matter the color of skin as long as money is being brought in And I hope to God my son doesn't have to deal with such terrible people when he's older because the feeling of being "wrongfully" different is heartbreaking. We did still tip because I refuse to be put down by people who work at a fast food place. 100% don't recommend this place if ur "different". But if ur that type of person to go right on n enjoy! More for you.

Can't comment on ur answer so I'm writing it here. That's so disgusting that ur completely down playing what I'm saying I experienced. Just saying i'm wrong for feeling how I did is so disrespectful. Completely disgusting management. I've worked in customer service and have never spoked to anyone like that or made them feel like their perception is wrong or their feelings are wrong. Go work for starbucks and then tell me you were "busy" you have 6 booths. For 3 or 4 people on duty that should be highly managable without the disrespect. Thank you for making this comment. You truly are a terrible place full of people who can't take accountability for their actions. Don't go here whoever you are because this comment they left Makes it clear they really don't care for their customers because if they did, they wouldn't say I'm wrong they would just apologize and offer to make the next one better. If I could give them no stars I would. Terrible place, service and food! Petty management clearly. If you scroll thru the paid ratings that say they are good. Look for the bad ratings and see the proof in poor management. Even reading some of the comments they left on other rating is so rude and disgusting. They basically tell people they are wrong for how their service went!. One lady said she got sick from this place and they basically said she's wrong and it couldn't have been from here! Second visit after new ownership. Both times were utterly disappointing. First was their first week, so I cut them some slack. Double burger lacked butter an both patties were burnt. Ordered a malt and never got it.

Second visit, even worse! This time i did get the chocolate malt I ordered but wished I had not. It was horrible! It was runny, not very malty, smaller, and worst of all, it seems they drizzle chocolate syrup on the plastic cup they serve it in. This makes it taste like just chocolate syrup and nothing else.

Double burger again was burnt. I watched the cook burn every patty he made...about 25 of them. Grilled with grilled marks is FAR different than burn marks. Butter amount improved, but all you could taste was burnt meat so it did not matter. Cheese curds were not good either, definitely not the ones the old Mihm's had.

They are disorganized and the younger female waitress is simply rude.

I have peen a patron for over 30 years through different owners and the food has always been consistently great.

Now it it garbage. My second visit was my last visit.

Not trying to hurt the business, but I am telling everyone I know to save their time and money and don't bother going there.

My suggestion is get a suggestion box and invite long term patrons who REALLY loved Mihm's to help you make it...

If you are asked if you want butter, say "no, thanks" or "just a bit". Otherwise you will get about 3 tablespoons of softened butter slapped onto your burger patty. It will be a great big melted mess, you'll have to ask for more napkins, and that much butter on a greasy burger is just not good for anyone.

I'm also not used to my burger buns being toasted on the grill, which dried mine out too much.

The patties are on the thinner side, but that means your burger should be done and to you faster. I found it strange that they didn't have tomatoes and that they charged extra for iceberg lettuce. If it were any other type of lettuce, I might be ok with paying extra, but it's iceberg, not worth the extra cost.

The service was great and friendly, but the atmosphere was a bit awkward: quiet conversations from patrons and no music playing to cover the sounds of people eating. It was also cold inside. I'm sure the staff working the grill appreciated.

The neighborhood was nice and cute, and I was happy to support a local business, but I would have been more satisfied with burgers from the Five Guys we passed to...
