Food was good. Service was terrible.

I was excited to try out laksa that my friend had recommended, but my excitement died immediately when I came to pick up my order. The one and only waitress that was on shift was rude and impolite to say the least. I came to pick up during my work hours and was tight on my schedule. I came just on time to pick up my order only to have her treat me very rudely. She told me I had to wait FIVE minutes when I came just ONE minute before the scheduled pickup time and in a manner that was condescending. When I received the app notification on my pickup a minute later (i.e., exactly on time), she gave me the order from the kitchen and said not a single word (like “here you go”). And even when I was leaving, she did not say a single thank you or goodbye. Yes, I get that she was the only person on the shift. I’ve been there myself and know how it goes. I myself have worked in the hospitality industry before, and this is absolutely not how one treats customers, regardless of whether the staff is stretched thin. This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and it’s a shame it left such unpleasant memories in just less than five minutes. If this is how I get treated for what was supposed to be a simple pickup, I can’t imagine staying there longer, like to dine in. I doubt I...

I was so excited to find this place! Turns out they've been around for decades, so that goes to show they're a staple in the neighborhood.

We came here around 7:30PM on a Saturday, and parking was really easy. It was great that they had a good crowd still at this house. We got seated within 5 minutes!

For dinner, we had: Singapore Chicken Rice (aka Hainan Chicken Rice) Duck Garlic Noodles Roti Prata Chicken Satay

The chicken rice wasn't super stand out. The chicken was cooked well and the rice was good, but the sauce and overall flavor was a 4/5!

The duck garlic noodles were super delicious! I stopped ordering garlic noodles from restaurants for a while, because it usually clumps up when the noodles chill. But we had a taste of the noodles right when they were served and again after trying everything else. I loved that they stayed chewy, bouncy, and didn't clump up. 5/5!

The roti prata was soft, crispy, and toasty with a delicious curry sauce. I loved that they separate the roti into small pieces, since it's usually too hot to handle at first. 5/5!

The chicken satay was fantastic on its own. The sauce that came with it was okay, but I didn't feel like it improved the chicken. 4.5/5!

My husband and I found this little gem when we were craving some hainanese chicken rice. We called in our order and opted for curbside pickup (we live in the East Bay, so we couldn'tget their food delivered). The person on the phone was very friendly and accommodating. I requested for a side of chicken soup, and she said that although the dish doesn't typically come with soup, she'll include some for me. As soon as we parked our car outside the restaurant and opened the trunk, they immediately came out with our food. I was very impressed with the service, but even more impressed with the food! The chicken was still hot and extremely juicy -- I basically ate the whole dish with just a fork because I didn't need a knife! The chicken rice was very flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the sauces elevated the dish to the next level. We also ordered the crispy tofu as an appetizer, which was also delicious. I didn't get to take nice photos of the food because we started eating as soon as we opened the containers. We just parked in a nearby lot and ate in the car because the food just smelled so good. Definitely worth the drive, and I highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to be able to dine in after the...
