I feel like every time I order an iced chai, it's literally chock full of ice with maybe 6 ounces of actual liquid (half of which is milk). So not worth the $7-8 (since I always tip regardless and unfortunately can't tip until after I already get my drink).
I've asked for light ice and it almost always makes no difference, they still fill it to the brim, to the point that the ice doesn't shift after I take a drink and it only takes five swigs for me to house the entire thing.
It's not super often that I swing through for a tea. I usually just do it when I'm out of ingredients at home or don't have the energy to make my own tea before I leave the house, but I don't think it's unreasonable for me to want enough caffeine in my drink to get my through the day and 3 fluid ounces of chai ain't it, especially in this economy.
I'd be more understanding if it was something that was hot that required that much ice to bring the liquid down in temp, but the chai and the milk are both refrigerated, so what gives?
I worked in food service for a really long time, I only recently left the industry. I am a very polite customer, I'm very understanding of most hiccups, mistakes, or waits on food/drink, but in my experience at this location specifically, the staff is not very receptive or caring about fixing things when they're brought to attention (I've had other drink faux pas before that didn't go well, despite me apologizing profusely for the inconvenience of having them remake a drink for me after it was rang up incorrectly).
I also had an experience last week where the lady ringing me up on drive thru kept cutting me off as I was ordering drinks and asking if I wanted anything else, so I wasn't sure if she heard the rest of my sentence (substituting oatmilk in my drink because I'm lactose intolerant) and double checked that she caught the last bit and she snapped back at me with an unnecessarily hostile tone saying "everything you have said, I have rang up" or something to the effect of that. But she snapped back so much that my husband who I was on the phone with even made a comment about it because he overheard it.
I'm just at the point where I've had so many unsavory experiences with this location in particular that I'm kind of fed up and will wait until I get to the town I work in to grab a tea instead of hitting this location before I start my commute. I hope things improve for this place. Customers and restaurants are supposed to have a symbiotic relationship and I don't feel that energy off...
Read moreStayed in Menomonie for a horse show, and was pleasantly surprised that there was a Caribou Coffee on our way out for the day. My friend ordered one of the dark roasts and was told it would take 4 minutes to brew a pot since they had not yet brewed one. It was 9 am. I ordered a mango tea and a plain bagel toasted with plain cream cheese. My order came up right away along with my friend's blueberry muffin. We waited for her coffee, and waited, and waited. An associate asked what we were waiting for and when told it was a cup of the dark roast, she said just a minute. We watched, and it had not yet been brewed. We waited again. After 20 minutes, we had our order and we were on our way. The bagel was fresh but could have been toasted longer, and my friend's muffin fell apart all crumbly and barely got any in her mouth. Most ended up on her car seat.
We gave it another try two days later. Service was faster. This time I ordered the strawberry banana smoothies and a bagel bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. My friend another one of the dark roasts already brewed and an Asiago cheese bagel, plain and untoasted. Her bagel was fresh and my bagel sandwich had no flavor. I couldn't even taste the bacon. Will not...
Read moreOn my recent visit to Menomonie, Wisconsin's Caribou Coffee, I was pleasantly delighted at the ultra-personal service that I received.
We pulled in road weary and tired around 6:30 AM on a Saturday. It was windy that day and traffic was causing a lot of noise layered over the order box, but the girl who came right on remained attentive to our order and kept apologizing for the noise of the traffic and the wind. We reminded her that none of those things were her fault. Only a selfish man baby would get mad over stuff like that.
When we got to the drive-through window, we were greeted by 2 very pleasant girls. Trinity and Sienna? Sorry for the spelling! Trinity made my crying daughter smile! NO ONE ever does that. Thank you, Trinity! It was nuts in the car until she saw you. You made her laugh and it changed the whole mood in the car for the rest of the trip. And Sienna was talking to our teen about dirt bike riding.
To top everything else off, this coffee is the best coffee we've ever had! Was an all-around awesome experience. Thank you for such a tasty and...
