Dave's Cosmic Subs — Restaurant in Mentor

Ordered the Big Dave sub. It tasted like a Dave's Cosmic sub normally tastes. Shredded cheese piled ridiculously high and saturated with that Cosmic sauce. I don't know why I keep trying with that sauce. It's not very good. Just very vinegary and strong. Overpowers the rest of the sub. Was disappointed to find out they discontinued offering pickle spears with every sandwich. The pickles they used to give you had a unique flavor to them and were delicious! Also, it appears they discontinued the green apple flavored Dave's soda as well. That was my go-to flavor every time I ate at Dave's. The green colored soda kind of fits the vibe of the place as well. Why discontinue something that makes your customers happy? It's the little things that count and are what people remember. Needless to say, I have become much less of a fan of the place now, and probably won't be coming back anytime soon. As a Clevelander born and raised who prefers to support local Cleveland small businesses over the big chains, it pains me to say that. I have ate at Dave's off and on for the last 20 years or so. However, Jersey Mike's and Penn Station have remained pretty consistent and don't get rid of stuff that works. I know what I'm getting with them....

The bread was soft on the inside with just the right amount of crunch on the outside, and the ingredients tasted fresh and well-balanced. Service was quick, but not rushed, and everything came out just right. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or just craving a great sandwich, this sub shop is definitely worth a visit. This place has really gone down hill. I used to LOVE this place. I started going here many years ago starting with the original one in chagrin falls. It was really great food. Now the quality and customer service has completely went away. Today we ordered subs and the entire recipe must have changed because they’re using different meat now. On top of that they used an absurd amount of oil on the sub for some reason. The places are loaded with teenage kids who aren’t supervised or trained properly. They mishandle your sub , forget toppings and most of all they were extremely rude and didn’t want to refund us our money even with us bringing it back. Now we’ve wasted our time our gas money and we are still hungry. I would highly recommend...
