Chocolate for mocha has dairy . One star because finding out if it had dairy or not was an awful experience, down to the baristas not knowing exactly if their dark chocolate had dairy, to the guy in the baker hat rudely saying it has dairy after the baristas staring at the display bag for 1 a minute. Next time if someone asks it could be beneficial to have it handy so the baristas are confident about ingredients. It is a health and safety issue to not know. Would have still ordered something if they were nice about it but the whole experience sucked

Shawn’s was a must stop for our Lake Washington bike ride as it is immediately next to the path in Mercer Island. The smells had us at the door but the visual of endless baked goods when you walk in seal the deal. The staff welcomes you warmly, the actual Shawn busily working in the back included. I opted for a danish, sorry I couldn’t wait for a bite before the picture, my friend a scone. They’re happy to offer any milk alternatives, and have an abundance of flavors to add to your custom latte. Quaint outdoor seating let’s you sit above the plentiful parking area. It was early and we got to chat with Shawn as he changed the daily specials board, it was delightful to hear him talk about how important it was to him to offer local favorites...

My wife and I tried Shawn’s for the first time yesterday morning and it’s practically all we’ve been able to talk about since. Best and most affordable breakfast we’ve had in the greater Seattle area.

We ordered a Turkey/cheddar croissant, a berry/cheese danish, and a pretzel roll with mustard. Also a cappuccino and hot tea. Our order was ready almost instantly, but was perfectly hot.

The food was incredible. Like, in a every-bite-better-than-the-one-before kind of way. And the mustard?? Come on. So good.

The staff was friendly, Shawn was precious, and we had a great time. Thanks for the great food Shawn & co.! Can’t wait to come back. I’ll definitely be looking for new excuses to go to...
