On Friday, Jan 20th, my wife and I and another couple stopped in for a bite to eat . To start with, it is small and kinda cozy . The sevice from the beginning was slow, but we soon figured out that there must be only one server on at that time . It was about 7 pm, maybe a little later . I will say the gentleman that seated us also was the waiter . He was very nice but he was very busy. I ordered a burger, which I thought tasted good . My wife got the Crab Dip as her meal that I thought was good, but a little salty for my wife's taste . I'm not sure why, but the beer they had was all in cans, as was the soda . My biggest complaint was the price of my beer ! I used to work in a beer distributor, and I know what the cost of beer is . I love Troegs Perpetual and will get it every chance I can . But $9 for a 12 Oz CAN of beer is absolutely ridiculous. I get it every one needs to make some money ,but making 300% or more on a can of Perpetual is way to much . I myself can go into a distributor and get a 6pk of bottles 12$ to 14$. For that reason only I would not buy a craft beer from them . They could charge 5 or 6$ and still make plenty of money. I can go to Texas Roadhouse and get a 20 Oz draft Perpetual for...
Read moreThis review is for the hotel/inn portion of the establishment only. We did not dine at the pub.
We booked a room for a stay on 6 Feb 2021. My family and I were doing some skiing that evening at Whitetail Resort. We chose the hotel based on its quaint small town location, and it's history. The $252 charge seemed expensive for the evening, but we like to frequent local establishments and wanted to give this a chance. The hotel has a rustic charm to it, and the beds were comfortable (stained sheets though) but there is nothing else good I can say here. Our room had the quality of a roadside motel complete with peeling paint, stained sheets, and a drop ceiling with rusty channels. The morning shower was unusable as the water temp fluctuated from scalding hot to ice cold and could not be controlled. Basically one has to stand outside of the water and hope for 10 seconds of consistency to jump in and out of the water stream. You could not stand and wash your hair. I have stayed in many older hotels where the plumbing has been updated, so there is surely a fix for this. The lodging here is worth about $70 a night, we left feeling completely ripped off and will not return. We strongly advise against the...
Read moreIt was a Tuesday evening, a little after 7:00. There were people at the bar and at least 3 tables in the front dining room. We asked to sit in the beer garden in the back. We waited 10 minutes for anyone to come speak to us and take our drink and dinner order. We watched another table get seated near us and get drinks before we did. Then another group came into the back and was getting drinks and food brought to them- seemed to be one of the owners. We got our drinks after 20 minutes, placed an order for an appetizer and waited another 30 minutes. Nothing. We got up and left. I told the man who appeared to be the owner that we were leaving because of terrible service as we walked by him- he only said, “Oh, that’s too bad.”. We went to the bar, found the man who’d taken our orders, gave him a $20 for the drinks and told him we were leaving. He only said, “Oh, ok. See ya.”. This was ridiculous and the lack of concern from the staff was just insulting. Top 2 worst dining experiences ever. Can’t even rate the food because we...
