Great coffee shop with excellent food and drinks. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is the customers, honestly.
During the school year, students from the academy completely take over the place. It almost feels more like an academy coffee shop than a Mercersburg one, as the students occupy all the seats and treat it like their personal living room. Even the teachers and faculty do this, talking loudly and constantly about school assignments and classes. The workers are sometimes academy students themselves, so it is not uncommon for the baristas to chat with their classmates while working.
In the summer, it is a different crowd but still chaotic. Parents often let their small children run around unchecked, turning the shop into a playground. I wish the staff would step in more during both of these situations, whether it is the academy crowd monopolizing the space or the little kids...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite coffee shop in the area but over the past few years I’ve noticed a few things that have been let go. The quality of the drinks are not as good. I will say the atmosphere of the over shop is one of the best. However my main concern and why I am giving a 2 star review is the customer service/timing. I’ve been over a dozen times this year and the service is slower than a turtle even when they’re not busy. It’s slow when busy and it’s slow when not busy. There’s no sense of urgency whatsoever. My friend waiting 25 minutes for a singular bagel. I understand a slow relaxed coffee shop but not everyone wants to wait 20 minutes for a single coffee. Heck I even tried ordering online thinking it would be faster so I could come inside and pick it up and go. No such luck. When I arrived whoever was working said oh we didn’t see an online order come in…. So again I...
Read moreMy wife and i have been to this cafe twice. It's a quaint little shop. It reminds me of a small coffee shop in downtown New York City's SOHO. They offer bagels, pastries and breakfast sandwiches and a variety of different types of coffee, such as espressos, lattes, cappuccinos as well as smoothies and teas. There is a nice area outside with multiple tables and chairs to sit at to relax and enjoy the nicer weather. I did not give it 5 stars because I feel for the area, the prices are a little on the high side. The prices are more in line with what could be expected from a touristy vacation spot. However, if you're looking for a relaxful breakfast or midday coffee or tea break. this...
