I don't usually write reviews on behalf of others, but what I witnessed during my recent visit was concerning enough to share. I arrived at around 8:30 PM to pick up my order and saw a young woman and her mother who had been waiting longer than me dealing with an issue regarding their food. From what I overheard, their order had been placed at 8:00 PM, and after waiting over thirty minutes, it was served cold.
While the customer voiced her frustration with the long wait and cold food, she was not rude, just understandably upset. The response from the Spanish employee was dismissive, including comments like, "Well, I'm not the one who made your food," and "what else do you want?" When asked to remake the order, the employee reacted by slamming the window shut. After that, the situation unfortunately escalated. The customer, upset by the window being slammed in her face, began yelling about the employee's behavior. At this point, the employee walked away into the back, loudly calling the customer inappropriate names while speaking to coworkers. This only further aggravated the situation and heightened tensions for everyone present. Throughout all of this, the manager on duty did not apologize or take responsibility, instead making excuses for the employee’"s actions. As someone waiting nearby, the whole incident was uncomfortable to witness and reflected poorly on the establishment.
All of this could have been avoided if the employee had handled the situation with professionalism and basic customer service, rather than taking things personally and reacting with hostility. Even when customers are frustrated, it is the staff's role to remain calm, address concerns respectfully, and ensure a welcoming environment for everyone. I hope management uses this feedback as an opportunity to provide better training and improve how situations like this are managed in the future. Customers deserve to be treated with respect just as much as employees do. However, as an employee, you are the face of your company and have a responsibility to maintain professionalism at all times. The employee should not be the one to start or escalate an issue. .... oh and after all of this, they also gave me cold food that took...
Read moreSatisfactory blizzard with extra Oreos (I would hope they could at least do DQs signature dish) but that's not where/why they are getting 2 stars from me.
My reason for this review is due to the fact that every Dairy Queen I've gone to in the state EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE does Oreo shakes. I've personally worked at friendly's and have had friends work at various ice cream places (AC Peterson's, Baskin Robbins, dairy bar at uconn) across the state and all of them have been able to do this kind of milkshake without a thought. I was told by their cashier that it was "not possible to do due to equipment/franchising/policy" but they have cake milkshakes that have chunks as well as other milkshakes that require pieces to be added. Literally behind their counter is the same milkshake maker every other ice cream place uses is in their store as well (I've used a similar model personally) and it just takes time to clean after and is not hard to do otherwise.
This leads me to believe only 2 things....
the servers are just plain lazy and didn't want to take the time to make it.
There is an actual policy that prevents Oreo milkshakes (what reason is beyond me) which is ridiculous.
Unless I get a communication from their team explaining this as well as an Oreo milkshake this review isn't going to change. I will also make sure to advertise this point to others and to make sure that no one goes to this location unless some...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this DQ a couple weeks ago. We went through drive through and I asked the person on the speaker to give me a minute while we figure out what we want. 20 seconds later "can I help you?!". It's not even like I was holding up the line because the car in front of me was still only 5 feet ahead of me. So whatever, I order a summer berry blizzard (that I had been waiting for for quite some time) and a chocolate covered strawberry blizzard. The summer berry blizzard was great. But my boyfriend said his had barely anything in it. Just like a small cup of vanilla ice cream for like $4.50. So I call and talk to the owner and he was very understanding and wrote my name down, told me to come and get a free one next time. So we get tonight and I get a royal new York cheesecake blizzard which I used to always get and was always very satisfied with. And my boyfriend got his free small blizzard because of the previous inconvenience. I get home and eat my blizzard, there was no cheesecake bites in it. I'm a very reasonable person, I worked at McDonald's for a few years I know what it's like to forget something or be very busy but come on man twice in a row. The blizzards are too expensive to not get what you ask for. I'm not gonna call and I don't want to go back. I'll be going to Les'...
