If you're looking for a small-in-the-wall place to eat, we found it! Small, cute and friendly as all can be. Upon entering we were immediately greeted with a smile, chipper good morning from waitresses and fast seating. Our waitress was AMAZING and VERY intuitive to our needs. Customers around us were very polite and understanding of our sometimes loud grandchildren šŸ˜‚! All of the wait staff made sure to interact with us and the kids and we were SO HAPPY to find Southern Hospitality still does exist with some people! We ordered our food, ate and towards bill pay, a waitress was walking around asking about the car with the friendly dog in it. Mind you, the dog is what we call a "window guard" cause he usually goes NUTS when someone unfamiliar is around the car. Well, apparently someone gave him the day off and didn't tell us cause he was VERY friendly when others were approaching the car to check on him. Yes, the windows were cracked, we believe in fresh air while waiting! Lmao!! (My husband left his dog in the car due to it raining and we didn't want to cause too much of a distraction.) One of the front tires was low on air and a gentleman that worked there went home to get his air pressure machine to inflate it for us. We were just talking about that this morning before leaving the hotel but decided to wait due to it raining. So my husband jokingly mentioned that both fronts were low and the waitress informed us that the guy will inflate both for us! We were tickled by this! So we paid for our food and got a FREE tire fill! We were asked about our trip to CT, cause we are from Maine and congratulated our future grandson on the way. We WILL DEFINITELY be returning next time and really...

It was one of my good to go places until the visit my wife and I made a few days ago, and I am never going back nor order any food here anymore.

To the summary, the amount is nothing. But I did not authorize the amount you charged me. That is the issue and if you don't understand or you think it's ridiculous, you surely do your business horribly.

My wife and I ordered burgers, the food were $14.5 and $15.5 - most burgers are $11, deluxe +$3.5 and onion rings instead of fries is additional $1. My wife got a burger with deluxe which is $11+$3.5, I got onion rings so $11+$4.5 . $30 for food with CT restaurant tax which is 7.35%, so total is $32.21 (32.205), I gave the tip for 20% which becomes $38.65. Today, I was just checking my card and found that the restaurant charged me $38.75. It's only 10 cents and I don't care the amount. I don't care if it's $100 that I mean to give or donate. I did not authorize any other number rather than 38.65. You can simply say "it was a mistake" - you don't make a mistake on numbers, especially other people's money.

I've seen one restaurant in Middletown (Blackbird Tavern) that charged me $50 when I only signed for $48, and the guy literally said it's only 2 bucks. It is only 2 bucks, but I did not authorize that. Same here, I did not authorize that.

Such a shame that it'll never be on my order...

Whenever I travel, I like to find a nice local diner with good food and decent prices. I've eaten here for the past four days. First day, ordered simple $5 (including tax) breakfast special. Grille was too hot, so scrambled eggs weren't quite done. Home fries were good, though. Second day brought in coworkers and had fish and chips for lunch. Cost about $12 with coffee. I don't know how they make their fish but they looked remarkably like store bought frozen fish triangles. Not impressed, but it was edible. Third day had California omelette and rye toast. About $10 or so after tax. Not bad at all but home fries were super hot and not cooked in the middle. Today, my last day in town, ordered Polish Benedict. I requested the yolks be cooked until a little hard. Didn't happen. Just egg all over plate, overpowered everything. $10 or so.

Regardless, the service is astounding. The wait staff is very considerate and on top of things. They will suggest things from the menu if you feel daring, and also make adjustments to things the best they can. The cook might ignore them, but it's not their fault.

Highly recommend, would have given 5 stars if the food was consistent but it's still great food at a...

Very cozy little diner! You get a smile and a welcome from the staff when you walk through the door. Through my experience of going earlier in the morning, you can usually just seat yourself and the staff will swing around to take your order (if they get busier, they will probably direct you to different tables depending on your party size). The staff is friendly, and always accommodating. The food is delicious and portion sizing is great. Pricing is fair, in my opinion. I paid $9.95 for two pumpkin pancakes with a side of bacon, but it was VERY filling so it was worth it. They do have some other affordable meal deals, especially at breakfast; you can get a nice plate of homefries, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of toast for $4.50. Other notes: they have good parking, clean bathrooms, and wifi is available (password is on the menu board).

This place is an absolute staple for a good weekend breakfast. My favorite place for milesssss. Service is great (the servers are quick - with both your food and wit). Food is phenomenal. I’m not even kidding, and I know what you’re thinking ā€œit’s just breakfastā€ but the BEST bacon, egg, and cheese on a hardroll for miles, their coffee is always hot and fresh, and they have rotating specials that are always good. And let me tell you, if they have the banana chocolate chip pancakes special you NEED to try them. I’m 36 years old and have eaten my share of pancakes in my life- this one by far holds the number one position. I’ve attached a photo of the last bite. I swear I wanted to show you the whole thing but it didn’t make it long enough for the camera.
