Do not stay if you have children especially if they tend to have tantrums or have a disabilities! We have been staying at this hotel since Mid-September with our 7 children ( 2 children have disabilities which make them non verbal causing them to often express themselves in non age appropriate ways, 1 child is 2 years old and has the typical 2 year old tantrums, 1 child is a typical 5 month old baby and lastly our 7 year old who is experiencing behavioral issues and throws tantrums most of the day. Prior to choosing and making a reservation at this hotel, we contacted the hotel and advised them of the normal noise level of our family due to the above mentioned issues and were advised that it would not be an issue. So we booked 2 conjoining rooms with an open check out date until our new housing is ready for us to move in. Until recently we had no complaints regarding our family. Then starting this weekend we received a complaint shortly after making a complaint about smoke coming in our room (please note we have 2 family members with severe asthma). The first one came via the manager advising of noise complaint regarding slamming doors and yelling ( combination tantrums from the children that has occured every day of our stay) during our conversation several guests slammed their doors. We tried to advise the manager of the above issues and how we try address and bring the noise level down when it starts, but he did not want to listen to us only and advised us to keep the noise level. We decided to stay anyways and hoped that no further complaints would be received. Instead today right after making another complaint about smoke in one of our rooms, the front desk agent came banging on our door to advise us no one is smoking in any of the rooms and then told us we need to leave, because he keeps receiving complaints about our family. We tried to explain about the children and he could see and hear our 7 year old throwing a tantrum. Please note that it was about 4 pm and we had extended our stay until October 29. We asked when we had to leave by and he stated we need speak with the manager in the morning and left. We called the front desk and asked for more information about when we need to leave and advised that we need time to locate a new hotel and move everything out while trying to virtual learn 3 children. The same agent advised us that he can not make a decision himself that we need to wait and speak with the manager in the morning. We asked about a refund being issued to the card, because we had extended our stay until 10/29/2020. He then stated we can stay until 10/29/2020. When I questioned how he can make that decision without the manager, he got upset and again told me to speak with the manager in the morning and then hung up on me. Definitely not a way to treat a guest! What I do not understand is how the noise of children crying or throwing a tantrums is more disturbing to others than a party in the hotel parking lot that went on most of the night for an entire weekend during which the hotel staff were made aware of and most attendees were not wearing masks (please note that the police even showed up, but left without breaking it up.). In addition, this past weekend a whole bunch of cars (none of which seemed to being staying the night at the hotel) sat in the parking lot revving their engines with people talking loudly until past 1 am and were blocking in our vehicle at one point but no one went outside and said anything to them. We try to be as quiet as possible and try not to make complaints about other guests (mostly only when it is a health issue), but you can not control the fact that babies cry, disabled children yell and throw tantrums and our 7 year old has behavioral issues and throws tantrums most of the day. We try not to ask for too much (we only ask for items for our room every few days and only because they only give us a few days supplies at a time.). We are very disappointed that our stay has become so stressful for us. We will complete another review at the end...
Read moreThis comfort inn would have gotten a full 5 stars but they have to work out a few small tweaks. First let's start with the pros at first glance I thought this was going to to be a average ehh hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very calming and relaxing, beds comfy with more than enough pillows, quiet didn't really hear any guest hanging out or roaming the halls pretty quiet. Walls seem pretty thick didn't hear any noise from adjoining rooms and no creaky floors overall pretty solid room. It's located right off the highway and close to many fast food restaurants. So getting something to eat or getting to the closest store for anything you might have forgotten is not a problem. Also this is the first choice hotel i've been to that has a sign saying that if you forgot something they have extras like toothpaste, toothbrushes, or any other basic toiletries. Now onto the cons not really anything too major but worth mentioning. First no ice maker on the first floor no big deal really but would have been nice not have to lug kids up to the 4th or 5th floor to get ice. Second the bathroom mainly the shower needs some help now im not the one to complain about water pressure but the shower seemed to leak water out and really soak the floor they did provide a bath mat/rug which is nice because most choice hotels only give you small thin hand like towel to place on the floor but it was not enough to soak up all the water from the shower. Lastly the breakfast was ok it what you would expect from a free breakfast pretty average coffee cereal waffles yogurt sausage and eggs but let me tell you about these eggs now I am fully aware that the person who is in charge of making eggs cooks them in the microwave. I know this because i've seen this numerous time. Usually this has not been a huge issue for me they taste ok just need to add some salt and pepper. But on this particular day these eggs were horrible they basically tasted like eating chunks of water. I can usually save eggs by added ketchup but nope didn't happen these eggs were beyond bad. But everything else...
Read moreAttention do not stay here if you want to sleep! Horrible night, pot party spot. Upon entering you are greeted with multiple no smoking/pot free signs yet the oder of Marijuana is evident throughout. (At least it wasn't the worst incredibly skunky kind). A little disappointed no extra pillows available when asked (usually that only happens if a place is all booked out ... it definitely was not). Our room was nice, things appeared clean. We got in around 11 pm which to us is late. And by 12 just as we settled into bed the horror began. A car alarm went off and kept going off until 2 am, several people hanging outside the establishment drinking and loud enough to hear from up on the 3rd floor with TV on. Noise in the hallway increased heavily through the night peaking at 3 am with slamming doors (not like people coming and going letting the door go, but forcefully slaming during a fight with drunk potheads yelling). The walls must be paper thin the bed is quite a distance from the door. I regret not calling the desk but there is no way that they could not hear this much noise directly above, or from outside the front door, apparently this is acceptable. Finally got to sleep from 3:30ish to about 7.. the place became dead silent as a party ended I assume and unfortunately I had to get going despite badly needing more sleep. Huge piles of trash by the elevator big bag of used hotel paper cups and large food packages planly visible, no way there was not a party in the hall/ room next to us. What really got me annoyed though was seeing the almost empty parking lot at 8am.The previous night was freezing rain/ high wind and the only spots were a pretty good distance away inback of the building making lugging things pretty inconvenient. I find it hard to believe that more than 3 quaters of actual hotel guests would have left before 8 on a Sunday...maybe I'm wrong but it kinda gave me the idea that half the lot was taken up by people who werent paying guests/probably shouldn't...
