Our grandson took us to Chili's for dinner on a Friday evening. I gave "Service" only two stars because we weren't really sure of who our server was. One person took us to a table, another one brought menus and took drink orders, someone else took our food order, and yet another server brought the food to the table. I think the one who took the order did come back to see if we had our food. There were way too many people involved! I don't like having a knife and fork thrown in a paper bag and tossed on the table. I also don't like having only a bottle of ketchup, no salt and pepper or any other condiments on the table. We had to ask twice for napkins, which were also not on the table. My grandson was asked if he wanted a coffee refill, but our iced tea, coke and water were never replenished. Empty dishes were not removed from the table. Two of us ordered Smash Burgers and they were totally different in appearance. Mine was smashed with nice crispy edges and very good. The other was also very good, but looked like a regular burger that fit well in the bun and was not smashed at all. The Chicken Tortilla Soup (which I've enjoyed there in the past) looked like the dregs from the bottom of the pot. No chicken, just thin broth and a few broken tortilla strips on the top. We were eventually able to get a server to ask for our bill, but that too is now taken care of by us, not the server! Everything is done on an electronic device on the table. I realize other restaurants are doing this also, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. Since there were several people supposedly taking care of our table, but no one listening when we tried to ask for something, it was hard to know how to tip, or what we were tipping for. This was a very disappointing experience and it will be a while before we try...
Read moreThis was their last chance. Twice a year I take my oldest niece out for "Big Sisters' Club." We get a pedicure and go out to eat. In June and again in December (2016) we went to the Marsh Rd/Meridan Mall Chili's. Never again.
This visit we were promptly seated but it took 15 minutes AND my going to the hostess stand to request a server before anyone stopped at our table. The hostess apologized but the server seemed unconcerned about keeping us waiting--we didn't even get water--and just greeted us with "yeah, okay then...are you ready to order?" When the apps came out the cheese fries came out dry and hard (this happened the last time we were here as well). When the server did come back to check, I told her the cheese would even move it was so hard. She asked "so would you like another one?" and did get us another order. When our food arrived along with the weakest lemonade and Arnold Palmer's I have ever had, we had to ask to get napkins. Most of the entrees were fine, but by that time, I just wanted to go as we had to get to our nail appointment.
All said, (I know TL;DR) the service stank, the food was barely adequate, and no one (never even saw a manager)...
Read moreI am only giving a star because I have to to write my review. Where do I start? Our waitress (have no idea of her name because she never told us) took our drink order, brought our drinks then walked away for 5-10 minutes. We ordered a three for meal. Cajun pasta for my husband (he asked for shrimp instead of chicken and got chicken.) I was supposed to eat the soup and salad for my meal. She asked if I would like my salad at the time of his entree? I replied "can I have my salad first and soup with his entree? That's right folks she brought my soup first and salad with my husband's order. The side salad was not even remotely fresh or tasty. Took a bite of the soup and said to my husband (straight out the can with a horrible chemical taste. We never saw our waitress the rest of our visit, no refills, no asking how everything was or do you need a box? My husband would have appreciated a box but no one asked. He probably would have appreciated an accurate order with real service even more. We are done with Chillis 2 out of two different locations 10 years apart and nothing...
