Big Jud's Meridian — Restaurant in Meridian

Looks like something happened to my reviews for some reason so this is going to be little long. I was going to do an update this unfortunate time. The ones I org. wrote were basically saying their burgers are in my top 3 if not 1 depending on my health. There're always clean with great portion size for the price & that everyone (X persons) have always been real nice & helpful since I've been going (I think around 2016-17?). I'll always get a Bacon Cheese w/ Tots & a Drink, then sometimes after im done(dine in), I order another, Chicken Sandwich or Fish n Chips to go.

Week of Aug 8th That said this new update is not "bad" per se just something got missed or understood incorrectly. When I worked in Boise I had been going there at first 2 to 3x week for 3+ yrs for lunch when I worked in Boise. Then health issues got worse & was only able to 4-8x a mo. for 4ish yrs. Health got real bad for 1.5yrs & wasnt able to go unless I was around that area & was able to eat. Anyway the next yrs untill now have been few. Ive almost always dined in. A few times ordered a to go due to X reason but I've always double checked everything before leaving. Well this brings me to this last time earlier this week after my Drs/treatment. I ordered my usual & felt good enough to order a togo, so I decide to also try & ordered a chicken strips. Well, it was fingersteaks & I didn't realize till I got home, so i gave them to the naighbours kids. Why I didn't double check, I don't know. They probably asked but I dont remember them asking. So I've looked & looked for the receipt & I must have put in trash. Anyway I say all that to say this, if you ever have 1 bad time please give them the benefit of doubt, it may been you, them or both. Regardless me, friends & family have had nothing but 4 & 5s. That's not to say little things have not happened like missed mustard on burger or frys not salted or were rubbery etc. which they've always made right once I went back or was there. So, yes ill be back & probably this week or next when I have to go back in town. If something happens again i will update.

Always good burgers and fries. Splitting a Big Jud Special is my favorite thing on the menu as I really like the well seasoned burger in conjunction with the bun. I know it may seem dumb to like the bun, but it adds a lot to the 1 pound plus burgers. I agree with others that their downtown (Protest Road) location is a little better, but both are always tasty. Only disappointment today is that my mother, who has not been out since the COVID mess started, ordered her usual huckleberry milkshake and she got less than half of what she had received in the past. Not sure why. Also, to those rating restaurants one star because either, they won't let you enter and eat without a mask, or they will not provide you with a mask, shame on you. You obviously haven't had any friends or relatives die of COVID-19. Suffocating to death and drowning in their own fluids due to COVID and the pneumonia it can cause. Please stop with this entitled "violating my rights" or "I have a medical condition" garbage and respect the requirements of the private businesses and restaurants you want to visit. If you disagree with their requirements, keep your opinions and comments to yourselves and just don't visit these businesses. Believe me, I work in retail and I would be happy to not have to deal with the "entitled" and "I'm special" attitudes and temper tantrums anti-maskers throw. After all, many of us have to work our entire shifts with masks on. Do we like it? No, of course not, but we wear them because it is the right thing to do. Besidess, with all the other problems in the world, is it really that difficult to put a mask on for an hour or so when you go shopping? Anyhow, thank you Big Jud's for sticking to your guns and enforcing the mask requirements. I know you guys have had to close down on several different occasions due to COVID cases in your employees, but your loyal customers like myself will always come back. Big Jud's always has great burgers, great fries and tater tots, and (usually) good service. If you don't have, or refuse to wear a mask, I suggest going...

I LOVE burgers- Big Juds did a great one for me once and I raved about it to people. I showed people the photo of my beautifully crafted meal and recommended friends and family to attend. I did notice some reviews stating Juds had gone downhill but relied upon my own past experience and brought a friend here to buy him lunch and try a great burger place. Our experience was as follows:

We walked in and waited a minute and then rang the bell for service. A guy burst from the back and asked how many, ran to a table and dropped us off. Our server came to us about 5 minutes later. Jackie, she was nice enough- We ordered burgers, tots, rings and drinks. There is a party of 8 and 3 other tables besides us. As we are sitting there, food is racing out of the kitchen in to-go bags to sit on the pick up table for door dash and such . After 20 minutes I asked after the food, she checked on it and came out with the tots and rings and assures us the burgers will follow soon. We have no plates or anything but proceed to snack on the sides we received. Burgers come out and WOW ... what a disappointment. As I mentioned I have been here before and had taken a photo of my food which was beautiful. I dont know what happened here but I was so shocked. Jackie came by and asked how everything was and I said " doesn't this come with lettuce and tomato and stuff on it?( I got a double bacon blue cheese burger) Jackie said " yeah I think we are running low or something. My friends burger came with lettuce and tomato... - food is still flying out of the kitchen in to go bags- she says ... do you want more? And I say .. yes please. She returns from the kitchen and says it's my lucky day and hands me a plate with a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato.

This experience is so weird so far. She returns later with the bill and I paid and left.

I will probably never go back, and this is my new Big Juds story to replace my previously wonderful experience
