Pita Pit — Restaurant in Meridian

• UPDATE AFTER A MONTH OF NOT GOING TO PITA PIT* I have NOT been to this location after my last TERRIBLE experience over a month ago with getting a hair in my food. But some time has passed and I gave the benefit of the doubt and tried it again. Which was a HUGE MISTAKE!!! Half way through this pita, I get another hair in my food!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! My co workers watched as I once again pulled a hair about 5 inches long out of my mouth!! I am so angry! I went to Pita Pit weekly and sometimes multiple times a week. I was a loyal customer, same as my co- workers. The company I work for also has uses Pita Pit for Category lunch on multiple occasions with all employees and I have already met with our owner and GM to be sure they are aware of these multiple incidence and to no longer used Pita Pit. For this to happen TWICE NOW, they have all agreed not to eat there anymore! If I could do a 0 Star on this I would. Management did try to make this second time right, just as they did before by asking what they could do to make this right but unfortunately NOTHING can make a second indecent like this right. Losing customers as they speak just because of where I work. I seriously cannot get over this now! Sorry but many of us will not be doing business with Pita Pit going forward because of this SECOND go around with a hair in my food. I have never had this type of experience at Pita Pit but I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I messed up my order online, which was my fault for not double checking that it was meant to be a delivery but I accidentally click pick up without looking. They did great at fixing it and bringing it too us since we couldn't leave work. I appreciated that greatly. They had dropped it with the front desk who brought it too me. I realized then that they FORGOT our chips and drink that WERE LISTED on our receipt. So I called and they said OKAY, WE ARE ON IT and apologized offered to bring anything else without charge for the missed chips, I refused but appreciated it and just asked they get the remaining items too us... I think, great they'll be here soon. But that instantly changed when I unwrapped my bacon pita and took the first bite. I ended up with a HAIR PULLING OUT OF MY PITA INTO MY MOUTH!! I have never had anything like this happen! I had co-workers standing with me as it happened and one of them had to run to the back to hurl as I pulled this HAIR about 7 inches long OUT OF MY MOUTH. LITERALLY HE THREW UP!! Then my phone rings, it's Pita Pit. They are letting me know they only have one bag left of the chips I ordered and were curious to what other chip I would prefer for the second bag as a replacement. I told the gal on the phone the sea salt is fine for chips, but we have a BIGGER ISSUE because A HAIR JUST ENDED UP IN MY MOUTH FROM MY PITA! They apologized over the phone, made me a new bacon pita without charge, brought the new pita, the chips and drink that were missed, and also gave me 2 coupons and 2 cookies. I love Pita Pit, I have always had great services from this location. But this was a first for me and I needed to be sure it was out there. I still plan on using Pita Pit and I greatly appreciate that they did work so, so, so hard at making this experience right. But it was an awful experience this go around. I work in customer service but there is a huge differences between Customer Service and SOMEONE'S HAIR...

Super friendly and helpful staff. Tasty sandwich, and I would have again. I'm only concerned that the food touched his dirty shirt/belly as he prepped, although he did wear gloves. Perhaps stand back a bit? .... Update: This place really seems like a little mom & pop, and not a franchise or chain location, as they seem to do everything their own little way. I ordered through the app a gyro salad and selected 'curbside' pickup, then proceeded to drive to the location. As. I was parking. I got a call from an older woman, who asked if I wanted lettuce on my salad. She said that I did not select a greens option when I chose the salad, and I said that I thought it automatically comes with a base of lettuce, because it is called a 'salad' and I was able to complete the order without making that selection. I told her that I would prefer shredded lettuce and that I was already sitting in the parking lot, but there was no rush. I waited in my car 30 minutes after this phone call, and there was no order, so I called back the same number that I received, and a young girl answered with just "hello". This threw me off, so I asked if I was actually calling Pita Pit? She said, "oh yeah". 🙄 I inquired about my curbside order, and she told me that they do not have curbside even though it is an option on the app and that I would have to come inside. Why was this not mentioned when the older woman had called me previously? I entered inside and there is no posted pickup location, so I have to stand in line behind a family who is taking a very long time to order while the older woman was in the back, chopping onions and making eye contact with me but never came out to assist. I finally was able to pick up my order, as the young girl gave me a bright, sweet, innocent, and clueless smile and said...

I ordered a pita and showed up 30 minutes later to an empty restaurant and told in a cold manner... It's not ready yet by some gray-haired biddy with NO business cooking. About 10 minutes later she gives an order to another employee and says it's for Mark. I get to my car, realize it's not my order and take it back. She proceeds to blame me for taking the wrong order and that I had taken the one for Mark. I said I am Mark. Then she blamed another employee for putting too much stuff in a bag she had just told her was for Mark. No apology. Low employee morale is obvious. It was completely her fault. She must be an owner because no employee like that should be allowed to serve the public. If this is a franchise, the one on 8th will always be the best. I won't be back here. Also, reading these other reviews I see Greg, the co-owner, not taking any responsibility. Going back on a tape and arguing with a customer over gloves at the register?? Unprofessional first of all and secondly-I've seen it there on more than one occasion. The gloves are for the customers protection-not an excuse for employees to never wash their hands and cross...
