Update: Haven't been here since my birthday last year, and since my birthday is tomorrow, when my wife asked me where I wanted to eat, I said Chicago Fire. We came about 2 pm on a Saturday. It was a great time, because the restaurant was not crowded. We were seated right away at a half-booth. I would have preferred a booth, and I'm sure I could have asked for one, but our side of the restaurant was not crowded, and I appreciated the quiet.
Our server was Payton, and she did an excellent job of taking care of us. She was very nice and very attentive. After receiving our food, she checked back on ua several times.
I ordered a hazy IPA that I enjoyed. We ordered an antipasto salad and a medium deep dish combo pizza. You have to realize that the deep dish pizza takes longer, in this case 20 minutes or more. But, it's worth the wait.
As I've come to expect, the pizza was delicious. My wife and I were only able to eat one piece, it is that substantial and filling. So, I have a lot of leftovers to look forward to, and that is great!
My only complaint is about the antipasto salad. I wouldn't call it antipasto. While it had a lot of good stuff, including pepperoncinis, one of my favorites, I think we only got about 3 slices of salami in the medium size, which is skimpy. I would probably not order it again.
We have now been here 3 times, and for me, it's a real treat. The service has always been great, and the deep dish pizza is awesome. I would love to come more often, but my waistline would not. However, I will be back for sure on my birthday next year. Chicago Fire is a gem for me in the Treasure Valley.
Previous: We came here for my birthday, a Saturday evening. This was our second visit. Our first was before we moved here, while we were looking at houses to buy. We now live in Star.
The place was pretty busy, and we had to wait a few minutes for a booth. Once seated, we were taken care of by Laura, and she did a great job. They were out of the IPA I wanted, but after I ordered and they informed me, they were nice enough to bring me a few samples of other IPAs, which I appreciated.
We ordered a deep dish combo and a medium antipasto salad. Laura advised us that the deep dish takes 45 minutes to make, and we were fine with that. In the meantime, we enjoyed our drinks and the salad. My only complaint is that the antipasto salad did not have the amount of cheese and meat that I've had at other establishments, and I'm not sure I would order it again.
The deep dish pizza was delicious, well worth the wait. As I said, Laura was friendly and was an excellent server. We will...
Read morePizza was on tonight's dinner plans so Chicago Fire was our pick for the night! We did wait for a while for the hostess to show up. While getting sat I did notice that there was a decent sized crowd. The atmosphere was pretty chill. The venue is quite pretty. I love the brick walls and the black and white photos. I also loved the cityscape that was frosted on the glass. It added a unique touch to the glass. Tonight's menu was side Cesar salad, baked artichoke, zucchini bites and a deep dish cheese. The Cesar salad was good! It had hearty slices of parmesan. The salad was fresh and with the fresh ground pepper, it made it that much more tasty. I appreciated the big chunks of zucchini in the zucchini bites! The zucchini was fresh and wasn't overly cooked. The zucchini still had a good bite to it. The crust on the bites was nice and crunchy. Paired with the dip, it was the perfect bite. My main meal was the baked artichoke. It was cooked perfectly! Each leaf was soft and flavorful from the lemon sauce that was on it. It was good to the last bite. I bit really hard on a lemon seed. That wasn't really pleasant. I did find 4 total seeds in my artichoke which I found annoying. The artichoke was good but for 12 bucks, I kinda expected a bigger artichoke. The deep dish pizza came out extra hot! The cheese pull was fantastic! The pizza was covered in a good amount of sauce and cheese! My husband very much enjoyed it. Overall service was ok. Our server did a decent job. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. I'm happy I got to try...
Read moreStopped by this place over the weekend, always fun to try a new place that we’ve never been to yet. They specialize in pizza but we ended up just getting a bunch of appetizers. We started out with a mule & margarita. The mule was really good, the margarita was terrible. I’m never picky when it comes to a margarita but this one was really hard for me to get through. It was so watery & just did not have good flavor. We ordered a house salad & I loved that the dressing was tossed through the whole salad. We also ordered a wedge salad. The wedge salad was very basic & yummy. Our only complaints with the salads were the ranch seemed watered down & the wedge salad was served with a butter knife instead of a steak knife. I’ve never seen this before. It made it hard to cut through. The cheese sticks were a favorite for our table. Definitely recommend these! They were the cheesiest Mozzarella type sticks I’ve ever had. The crunchiness to cheese ratio was on par. We ordered the Buffalo garlic wings & they were delicious! They were a favorite for our table. Greek fries were delicious! The small caprese salad only comes with 2 pieces. For that price, I expected like 3 or 4 pieces. I did appreciate that when we sat down to order, they did tell us how long the pizzas take to make. Deep dish is 45 minutes, so plan accordingly if you do order this. I can’t wait to try the...
