Firehouse Subs North Eagle Road — Restaurant in Meridian

I've been a fan of Firehouse for years now, but this was my first experience with the store on Eagle Road. I've always thought they were good, but tonight's experience was beyond what I thought possible.

The sandwiches I'm used to aren't very evenly built, with the sandwich sliding off the bread in a small part every time. I've just put that down to the fact that they don't skimp on the toppings - it must be hard to line things up. The Eagle Road store, however, gave me two perfect sandwiches.

I wasn't missing bread or toppings anywhere. Everything was evenly built. The bread wasn't squashed or soggy, as has happened now and then. It wasn't at all hard to lift either sandwich out of their containers.

In short, we just had the two best sandwiches we've ever gotten from any Firehouse location. They were so much better that, even though they're not the closest store, they'll be getting all my future orders.

We usually love this place! But the last few times, it’s felt like our orders have been handled with carelessness. My sons kids meal came with his sandwich only, no treat and I had to ask for the fire hat... confused as to why I was not given it in the first place. The second time that same given week (we like this place as I mentioned) I wanted Mac & cheese with my sandwich when I sent my husband to get food and he waited for over 20 minutes in the parking lot for the Mac & cheese to be told it was frozen and then they accidentally burnt it while trying to heat it up for him. This makes me weary of how things run in this establishment as it was about 6:00 PM, which is a very normal dinner time. We were also left without pickles during this exchange. If you want a delicious sandwich, then definitely come here. If you want customer service, then don't come here. Love their sandwiches, but have absolutely horrible customer service. I work nearby so my coworkers and I order lunch from here a lot. But God forbid they acknowledge you when you walk in or speak to you in a polite tone. Every time I've gone in and say hello, they never respond back. Even if I go in without saying hello, they never acknowledge me. Go up to the counter to place an order or ask a question, you instantly feel like an inconvenience and burden. So again, absolutely delicious sandwiches! They're the best.
