Let me start out by saying I have a major love/hate relationship with Crumbl! I live across the street from this location, and the cookies keep me coming back, but the service and in-store experience is TERRIBLE!!
The Crumbl social media accounts get you majorly hyped, but actually making a purchase is extremely anti-climatic. It's like the cookie version of going to the DMV, complete with the slow lines, cold unfriendly staff, and then awkwardly standing around waiting to be called.
The Meridian location is squeezed into a strip mall, so there's no close parking. Another mood-killer is that unlike a traditional bakery with glass cases full of baked goods, for some reason they keep all the cookies hidden from view except a small display right next to the cash register. This of course slows down the line even more since you can't really see the choices until you actually get up to said cash register. It's also not uncommon for one or more flavors to not even be available, it's happened to me on multiple occasions here. Also if they're running low on a particular flavor, they will save them for online orders, screwing over their in store customers who actually waited in line, which is not cool at all. You'd think every once in a while a cookie would break or something and they'd make it into samples to offer customers waiting in line, but nope, never been offered a sample here ever! They do have a rewards program even though it's not really advertised or promoted, and it's up to you to remember to enter your phone number, the staff will rarely remind you. Oh and the kicker, after enduring the subpar service, high prices, and possibly not even the cookies you actually wanted, they still have the audacity to expect a tip!
If I didn't live so close and the cookies weren't so delicious, I would never...
Read moreLet me start by saying the cookies are amazing, the best I’ve ever had. However, the experience was completely ruined by the cashier who was rude and had a real attitude problem. I also want to say that I do not ever write these types of reviews but this particular circumstance made me feel it’s called for. I went with my family who was visiting from out of town and my father is hard of hearing and this cashier was growing visibly annoyed by the fact that she had to repeat herself, and then seemed to blame us for a miscommunication about our order (through her tone and body language) despite the fact that she talked very quietly and mumbled. This tone and body language problem continued to be an issue as my mother asked questions about the different cookies, only answering in “yes” and “no” and pointing, giving the impression she really didn’t want to be there and dealing with us (not very welcoming!). Next, my wife has a food allergy and we requested her order be placed in a separate box which again four of us agreed caused her to react with visible irritation while she did extra work on her order screen. She did not give off a friendly vibe whatsoever, in fact she gave the vibe that she just flat out didn’t like us when we were nothing but kind and respectful to her. I was under the impression that this would be a very fun place to go with employees who are like Dutch Bro’s employees (positive energy, happy, excited, friendly) but either this cashier doesn’t live up to the company’s values or they hire terrible staff. I did ask to speak with the manager but she told me that the manager wasn’t in (had they been there I probably wouldn’t have written this). Again, best cookies but you may leave in a bad mood depending on who...
Read moreI ordered curbside and was told one of the cookies I ordered was unavailable and I asked to only get the 3 out of my order that were available and was made to feel like that was an issue. The person running the cookies out then went back inside after I said firmly (and several times) that I only wanted the three that were available. Then some time later, he came back out with my box of cookies and said that someone baking the cookies (I’m assuming a manager?) said that they weren’t gonna let that happen and then I was handed the box with a sugar cookie (that I repeatedly said I didn’t want) in it and they gave me a single cookie box to “give it to someone who wants it”…. I assumed I was going to be refunded for the 4th cookie anyway since I repeatedly stated I didn’t want to swap the unavailable cookie for a different one so I drove home and checked my bank account and the original charge was still there so I placed a call to the store at 8:27pm (about 10-12 minutes after I was given the order) and no one answered so I left a message explaining the situation and gave a call back number with no response, and still no change to the charge. Since when are customers not allowed to pay for the amount of cookies/which cookies they want? The overall vibe just made me feel very uncomfortable.
UPDATE: the store never got back into contact with me. I emailed customer support like the response to my review instructed and also got no response. I’ll be sticking with the Boise location...
