Banning me from your Facebook page to avoid confronting my issues was not only childish but cowedly as well, since you won't respond to my emails you left me no other option.
KJ's Owner = Your response was ignorant to say the least. You cannot make a disabled person with a bleeding disorder clean up after themselves and refuse service if they do not comply or do it to your satisfaction as that too is against the law. You state that due to the bleeding disorder that my brother and I have is a biohazard safety issue and that too is a lie. Blood is only a biohazard safety issue if we had a contagious disease or a transmittable infection which we do not have, we have a genetic disorder which causes us to have weak veins and spontaneous nosebleeds which is not a threat to anyone. We spend about $1,000 a month in your restaurant for breakfast alone, since other restaurants are aware of our genetic disorder and have no issue at all with our disability, we are more than happy to spend our money with them. I will continue to tell my friends and family about your appalling behavior towards the disability that my brother and I both suffer with.
The manager at KJ's restaurant is discriminating against my brother and I because of our disability. We last visited KJ's on 10, Aug, 2024 at about 8:30 A.M. he said today was our final warning, suggesting that he was going to ban us from the restaurant. My brother and I have a genetic disorder which is a disability, and we are federally protected from discrimination according to the Americans with disabilities act. Our disorder is not a disease or contagious or is it a health or safety issue. If we had HIV, AIDS or any other disease the manager still could not discriminate against us. I assume the manager is under the impression that he has the right to refuse service to anyone and everyone he does not want to deal with which is not entirely true. My brother and I are very respectful, honest and decent people and we cause no issues that warrant the manager's disgraceful attitude toward us. All we want is to be treated with respect and be able to visit the restaurant and eat our meal without issue. I am sure the owner of KJ's does not want to face a...
Read moreI don't have Google or Facebook so I'm writing my experience from a relative account. I went to the breakfast buffet today. I'm Hispanic and I came in by myself. From the start I got dirty looks by staff and was made to feel distrusted. The waitress only came to my table to pick up dishes when I got up to grab something to eat. I noticed the manager came to the area where I was sitting and was not very subtle at checking me out. Lastly, as I was on my way out to pay the same manager came to open the cashier getting on the way of my interaction with the staff. I don't know if I looked suspicious for being all by myself or if it's standard racist practice of suspecting minorities. Besides the blatant racism, food is bland and not worth the 13 dollars.
Edited/response I respect your opinion but it doesn't change my negative experience at your place. The waitress was white, the checking in/out staff were white and the supervisor/manager was white. It's also like saying you have a Hispanic wife or a black friend but you can still conscious/subconsciously be biased to those groups. Or a police force that has some minorities and yet disproportionately give out citations to minorities. I'm glad to hear that other customers love buffet places like Kjs, chuckarama, or golden corral but their food is mostly bland and tasteless with a lot of reheated food or...
Read moreBeen going to JBs since I was a kid, who ever bought it has kept up the same great atmosphere and food (90s vibe of well taken care booths, sunday bar ect). Our family of 5 ate here cheaper or equal to most fast food places (including tip). 3 kids, 2 adults. The most expensive item was my buffet, which was still only $13. My husband's chicken fried steak was a very generous portion for the low price of $11. We were really surprised the priced didn't seem to raise much, considering we hadn't been since our first date 5 years ago. The buffet was still stocked great of breakfast foods like pancakes, blueberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, muffins, cinnamon bread, cereal, and that's only a 3rd of the food. I can't speak enough of how great the food was for price. Either they have great distributors who are keeping food costs low or they didn't raise prices just because everyone else did. Service was great, as I've always expected. We hadn't gone in so long because I was afraid it'd ruin my childhood memories, but after this great experience I'm happy to create those fun memories with my kids now. We don't eat out at sit down restaurants often, so it's a treat...
